@Wynnded do you have a build page that explains this, I've been curious for a while now

Slightly heavier steering, wicked traction in corners. 'Bout it.

The truck computer will calculate up to 20 mpg, but I have to make an effort. My mileage has always seemed kind of above typical. High elevation, light variant of the vehicle. The linked thread covers that it can still be driven in 2WD. When the snow settles in I flip it into 4WD and leave it unless I'm on the Interstate and it's not required (chain laws on the mountain passes).

Ok, just checking since you said earlier everyone. Understand about the logger development, just checking to see if you E-mail system was screwed-up.

How many others are having problems with the logger crashing?

I have a 2018 with a relocated radar sensor (latest update has not been done due to relocation)

Can I still get the tune?

I would absolutely be interested in the handheld tuner (exclusive Mac user)

[IMG]I received my files last night, thank you. Unfortunately I'm next to Fort Lauderdale, so I might have to egress with my RV in tow so I don't want to chance anything. That said, I do have some questions from the email, specifically about features that I need to choose. Besides switchable tune and gearlock, what other features are available?

I'm guessing with switchable tune it can be either two 87 tunes, or one of each (87 in one and 91 in the other)? Or is it just different target tables within one octane rating? If I just choose gearlock and not the switchable tune, does the tow haul button still function similar to stock (changing shift points for when you are towing)? Since I tow an 8K trailer is it best just to have gearlock and leave it at that?

Thanks in advance. So excited to see what happens with the storm so I can flash the truck!

Windows 10 had an update yesterday which I applied. Just fired up my truck and connected the data logger. Happy to report the logger didn’t crash. I left it connected for at least 2 minutes without issue.

I'd guess that his intent was to get those of us that did not have any tune off his back first, then return his attention back to the some of you all that have been sending him data.

At the moment depends where we are at in the file / logging process. We will have more updates to send for logging / file revisions through the weekend as well.

Tow Haul Mode still functions like stock as far as automatically upshifting the transmission. It will also downshift automatically when conditions are met (ECU). Tow Haul + S will lock the transmission in gear as low as 1500 RPM, I think, then it will downshift to the next lower gear.

As far as tune, you either load 87 or 91, not both.

Let us know how it tows after installing tune. 91 for torque and power.

    Sounds good. Thank you.

As far as the tow tune, I only run 87, but will respond back once I've given it a shot.

    Thanks again.

Thanks. This is my second tune. OV really blows the other one away. The feature like Gear Lock is much desired. Love this tune. Been waiting for this kind of tune since 2007 when I first purchased 5.7 RCSB 4x2. I would highly recommend getting this tune first, then add mods like dual exhaust, cat back exhaust, cold air intake, x-pipe, etc. The gain from this tune alone maybe sufficient for most Tundra owners. As far as MPG, it will eat up some in exchange for torque and power. But I"m still playing with the truck. Lol.

@OVTune is the tune similar to the tune for the Tacoma in the area of "settling"? Does it take a certain amount of time for the truck to run it's best after flashing your program? Or is that something not known yet?

My understanding of this is that initially the ECU feeds the engine a 'base' amount of fuel to start with. Then as it monitors the oxygen and air-fuel sensors, it 'trims' (adding or subtracting fuel by extending or lessening the length of the injector pulse) so as to try to maintain a 14:7 air:fuel ratio. This is for 'closed loop' driving, which is most of your drive time. 'Open loop' happens when you gas it and the ECU changes the ratio for power, which is a different A/F ratio (I don't know what's ideal for this engine, but it's whatever makes more power). Your dyno guy will be watching this number. Anyway, you have a Long Term trim and a Short Term trim. The LT can be thought of as an 'average' of the ST over a greater period of time. The ST is just what's going on more immediately. In a perfect world you'd want your LT to get closer and closer to 0 suggesting that the ECU has found the sweet spot and is not over or under fueling. This doesn't cover everything an may not even be totally current information. This information comes from my experience tuning the piggyback computer on my 1st Gen S/C'd Tacoma.
