If you are listening to the current forecast, then you know hurricane Dorian is going to kill everyone in Florida next week.

    Stay safe!

This is going to be an epic storm.

I recently posted a topic on this as we are eventually moving to Florida. Now we get to see how insurance works and if the
"propane, ice, chainsaw, generator" comments were spot on. 10 Floridians can't be wrong.

I leave on a cruise to MX from Galveston on Monday. This hurricane is all my wife’s fault. She drank and entire bottle of wine at her Dads birthday party earlier this month, came home a booked a cruise. Told me about it the next day when she looked at her email. “Hey, so apparently I booked a cruise last night. Would you get me a Gatorade and 4 Advil” Haha.

Milk and bread, everybody get you some. But also be safe. NOAA and NWS tend to fail conservative. The media tend to over react to sell milk and bread.

Ridiculous idea! A hurricane will consume a nuclear blast and We will end up radioactive storms.

I lived in S. Florida for over 25 years and the only heartfelt shout of "F... You" were from locals as an everyday form of communicating...

Looks like the US Territory of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands were at least spared. But yeah, the eastern US mainland is now being threatened.

Having survived 5 hurricanes in my lifetime, the three most important things we learned to have were water, gas and helpful neighbors. Fill up every bathtub with water and every gas container with gas. Be on the lookout for fast food joints and Waffle Houses re-opening the day after the hurricane hits. I used to work in the food industry, and before a hurricane were to hit we were told to find a way to get in to work the next day. Some of these places have backup generators and stored water to keep going while the power and water services are out.

Waffle House is especially famous for trying to stay open no matter what. If it’s closed, then you know it got hit hard!

All joking aside, I think Dorian will be the one Florida has always feared - a slow moving or stalled cat 4/5+ parked just off-shore for 4 or 5 days before moving on. I hope I am wrong, but this storm has real potential to be massive.
