Does anybody know how to get around the crashing problem with the data logger? I have been stuck for a couple weeks now and cannot get the software to stop crashing. Any help would be much appreciated

 

Any tidbits of info to nosh on?

I am literally sippin a cuppa!

 

Are you running the logger that came zipped up from OV with your tune file?

For me, running the logger as admin fixed the crashing issue.

 

I finished a cup this morning and felt like I hadn't drank any at all! Round two I guess

 

I will try once again today when I get home but I tried everything last time. It worked just fine 2 weeks before that when I logged the data last

 

We are trying to figure out why the logger is crashing on some computers, we also have an all new logger that is in development right now as well.

 

If necessary, is it possible to go back to stock after installing an OV tune. If so, how?

Same here, 15 years, I think dyno results and the added cost of needing another computer on top of the tune is slowing me down right now.

 

nothing today. i thought i would get it last friday. Mat said the email was almost ready for OCL42. Nothing so far this week.

 

@OVTune could you do us a solid and pacify a couple/three of us?
@TruckyTruck is scheduled to do a dyno for ya quite soon, but has yet to receive a file to flash.
@mzim was told that his email is in progress.
and it was suggested that a file for my ECU (0CG11) was seemingly pending.

I don't want to sound presumptuous in that we're to be passed to the front of the queue or anything, we'd just like to "hear the sound of your voice" to ease our anxious anticipation, or anticipatory anxiousness. We'd love to be able to help you.

If you only have a MAC just buy Parallels if you have a USB adapater. Much cheaper than a new PC

 

I think I am going to boot in Safe Mode and try running the data logger

 

Is it confirmed to work with Parallels? I thought the registry key system didn't function.

I run 93 octane in my truck, but I'll have it on the Dyno Sept 4th.

 

I’m in the same boat....worked fine a couple of weeks ago and for some reason on Friday I decided to apply the upgrade to Win10 that was waiting....stupid move on my part. I have tried everything and best I can get is I stay up and running after hitting collected for all of about 2 seconds then crash. I’m dead in the water as my tune needs adjusting.

 

Sounds like "exactly" what mine is doing. As soon as the software connects to the ECU and starts reading "BOOM" she goes down.

 

Note to self... UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT UPDATE THE LAPTOP UNTIL NEW DATA LOGGER IS RELEASED!!

 

Is it mostly windows 10? My laptop still uses windows 7... I was thinking about upgrading to a newer windows. But maybe I should just stick with what I have. My laptop is only used for your program.

So what's the story with techstream? Is it safe to use on our trucks? I thought I read somewhere that it's a hacked program. Is there some place I can read up on it? I'd like to be able to make changes to my truck, but want to keep my truck and my computer safe.
