No for the 2017 you just have to unplug the usb from the head unit and use the USB adapter to connect to the dasaita

UPDATE: I ended up using my dremmel too to sand the tops down flat and they fit perfect now.

The lil tabs to snug the screen down won't fit with in my metra dash kit? Any suggestion??

You can get a USB dashcam from aliexpress.. Mine is from idoing. When you connect it, it loads the apk to install. Only thing that sucks is some of the informational display is in Chinese but the main menu is in English.

It's a pain, but they'll make it. If you tighten both sides all the way in with the side brackets off, you can angle it through. Just takes some creative turning. Then you get to deal with inserting the two hinge pins.

I had to drill holes on the sides of the dash kit. Dremel the tabs down and make a slit in the screws. Then used small flathead screwdriver to go through the dash kit holes and tighten it down. Cant see them when installed.

Can someone help with installing Netflix?

Also I'm not seeing allow apps from unknown sources in the security settings.

That's the one I installed. I installed it via Google chrome and the Apk installer app on the head unit. It would put the app on the screen but when you click on them it says that its incompatible.

Also for those of you that use tasker to trigger WiFi hotspot when the head unit connects to Bluetooth could you please share how to set that up. I just downloaded it and it looks a lil complicated.

I've got two issues with sound (brand new install), hoping it's setting based. 2010 CM w/ JBL.

    1) The first volume level is somewhat high. I used to have a lot more volume levels in between. Anyone else notice this?

    2) I'm getting feedback noise through the speakers all the time. Even with music, video, etc. Any ideas?

    Thanks

I used this link to help. Tasker is pretty daunting to the first timers. I tried automate and microdroid first and neither worked on my setup. I'm currently using Tasker and it's flawless.

In the car setup section there is a setting for the base gain level. I set mine a little lower to get the volume level down

    Thank you Cody!!!

Also, for this tip is for those using Samsung Galaxy Phones.

I had to download the app Good Lock from the Samsung Galaxy app store. This is the app you have to use to be able to turn your hotspot on when BT connects. Tasker was unable to turn my hotspot on and I tried several different processes. Tasker does however turn my hotspot off when BT disconnects. The good Lock app doesn't have that option. So I am using these two different apps to successfully toggle my hotspot on and off based on my BT connection with the headunit. They both work in the background automatically.

So is there no solution to feedback noise with these head units? And if not is the amount of feedback worth to/able to be loved with?

How loud is the hiss? Can you hear it while driving or hear it with music or anything playing? Or can the hissing sound only heard if you put your ears next to the speakers?

I too have this mysterious sound. Mine sounds more like a mouse squeaking. Inaudible when volume is up. But like you said if no audio is playing and you listen well, it's there.
I've seen several posts on other sites claiming it could be interference from the screen. So far I've ran a separate ground to the case and changed out the wifi antenna with no luck. I've seen some put a wifi extension cable and move the antenna to fix the problem. I've ordered a short extension cable for mine and will try that next. I also have some emf tape and I may just try to put some behind the screen on the actual unit to see if that does anything.
So far nobody that rides in my truck can hear it. But I can. And I'm ocd like a crazy person. So it will be fixed. And I will report back soon when it is.

I haven't noticed any hiss or any other noise from mine yet. I grounded mine to the tubular support inside the dash.

I contacted Dasaita and they pointed me to a software update. I don't believe that'll fix it, but I'll install it tomorrow. I'll add an additional ground to the list of things next time I pull the unit out.

This is the email I got.

    "
Hi, Chris Here is the MCU update link: V3.30 https://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/ht4mbi Please download then ONLY put IMG file to the usb (format the usb firstly). Finally click the setting > about this device > MCU update to update it. (If you can not download the file, please change the Explorer or computer to do it)
    "

Also hoping this fixes the volume issue. The first level is way too loud.

I actually tried to update mine using this. Its a rar file (i must he an idiot not sure what the img file is) and my unit wasn't able to find the update. Used a usb thumb drive... hmm maybe rar is like a zip file then lol. Going to try it right now.

Yes, rar is like zip. Use 7zip to unrar it. Then you will be left with a img file most likely.
