hi all! I just put my deposit down on my 14 crewmax sr5 off-road. I have been lurking for a minute just wanted to introduce my self and see what people’s idea of warranty is like? She has 151000 km pretty regular oil change history then looks like when warranty ended they started taking it else where dealer can’t provide those records but she sounds good (stethoscope by timing chains no rattle), drives good, no chatter on cold start. The trans fluid and driveline fluids maybe have never been done. But she is minty body and no rust. What do you guys figure? Should I be looking at an option or just pay my 25k and stop worrying. Also should mention I am buying it from where I work now(another dealer).

Welcome to the best Tundra site on the web. I think your answer to the warranty question lies with you and the finance dept. If you work there then there; too many variables for people to help answer your question. Maybe shop around for the best extended warranty... :spending:Good luck.

Thanks for the prompt and warm welcome everyone ! I have been looking around to see if there any points of failure I should consider. When I worked at Toyota (apprentice tech) I saw hundreds of 1st and 2nd gens that were 200k -300 k kms and even a few 400 k and specifically that was 595 k (still remember doing that alignment *shudders* LOL never had an issue aside from rust and maybe just a few leaks, one blown motor due to oil starvation. I was gone before the third gens were more than a year old never saw any issues up until that point. Can I expect the same from a 3rd. If they are reliable as their predecessors I guess my answer is I won’t get one. If they are not then it’s something I’ll consider

only have pics of the FR-S I am trading in for it at the moment. I didn't even let the dealer post pics of it when I saw it, I came barrelling down the halls like here is deposit for tundra pending inspection.

Its time for a truck. I hurt getting in and out of my car. But that being said I frickin loved that little car. Alot.

I appreciate that man ! She is coming with some running boards on her. Which I might change later but for now they will suffice I think more importantly I need to pick up some winter tires and a tonneau so I don’t carry a bunch of snow in the bed when that time comes, other than that I am looking at those tail gate covers for mountain bikes but not in a rush for that cause I also need a bike lol

I am not going to lie miss the old car some days especially in traffic circles and when it’s raining and drifting is like pretty much free
