Thinking about making my own but wanted to see what members have done and if it is worth it or not?

I don't want to discourage the people who is on the fence wanted to fabricate and or build their own stuff. I don't fab for living but I love to build stuff because I know what my needs and build for that convenience. For the tools pretty much all I used is basic tool like welder, electric grinder, tape measurement, square... I do have a portable plasma cutter but only used for the last bumper built, I always use electric grinder with cut off wheels for cutting metal.
Material (metal) will most likely cost less than $300 for one bumper and it took me 2 full days (10 hours/day) of working to get 80% completed from the scratch, from there I work few hours here and there to complete it.
I don't build the BA stuffs but strong enough to take abuse and serve me well for years to come.

I have that bumper on the rear of my '07 RCSB, and I'm not sure if the matching front bumper would offend snowflakes as much as the Ranch Hand guard that I used for a short time.

Just picked material up for sliders and rear bumper. I’ll update once I get some work done on it. Have a million projects on the go so don’t expect anything soon haha

I made this bumper earlier this year but I'm going to making a version 2 of this for even more clearance after I relocate some stuff behind the grille. I used to have a plate bumper from Relentless Fabrication but I wanted something lighter. My bumper is about 50lbs lighter than the plate one. And just about 40lbs heavier than stock (ie. not including my winch).

Thanks! A part of me doesn't want to throw away the bumper for the new one but my new design is even better and lighter. I'll take the first bumper as a learning experience.

I'm thinking about it yeah. It wouldn't be terribly hard I don't think. I'm not terrible at Fab so I probably will once I buy some steel

By throw away you mean sell it right? There are hundreds of Tundra owners looking for a deal of the lifetime and you could make one of their days :)

Yeah, I'd sell it but it would be hard to find someone that can fit this. It only works with trucks with at least a 3/4" body lift because I made the bumper tuck close.

The rear bumper fan has started. Will be finishing the bumper this weekend. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to fab the sliders also.

Nice work. This is the reason I don’t have F/R bumpers. I love the MRDS front, but there are no rears out there that look good.
The MRDS rear sticks out a foot from the tailgate.
I love the clean/low-profile design you’re going for.

    Should be handy for trailering.

LOL - okay, let’s hope you don’t do much trailering. I run those on my class A rigs lol. :D

You even have the DOT reflective tape :p

I know the rear bumper is the easy way, but if you just have to run flaps (I never have, and never will) I’d try to push them a lot closer to the tire and custom cut them down a bit.
Only my opinion of course. ;)

If I ever buy a H1 Humvee I would use a building’s support I beam and have it stick out 2 inches on each side. Then for shits an giggles go to Manhattan during rush hour and see how many people try to cut me off.

Haha nice. I am going to put the same flaps I had on the truck before behind the wheels. These are just optional rock tamers if I want to run em.
