The only thing that looks funny to me is the angle of your axle to the control arm. It looks awfully close. Is your before picture of the clearance of the axle to the control arm the same distance?

Both of these should be on the passenger side (which is the one I have fully assembled currently) and BEFORE I installed the differential drop kit.
I do not have that "good" view of OE coilover after the diff drop. But I agree... it is crazy looking. I thought the drop kit was supposed to correct that???20190823_170158.jpg 20190823_170116.jpg

In addition, if it matters, all the photos are with my factory wheel/worn out tires on the vehicle.

I’m not sure if only having one side done is throwing the angles off? Is the diff drop installed? How thick are the spacers for the drop?

20190824_132327.jpg 20190823_192945.jpg Yes the spacers are in (pretty sure 1")
Here is a comparison pic also...
The ball joint hits the spring when installing. That is the issue I was having on the first side (and didn't realize until I got to the driver side)
So I do not believe it is a "one side" type issue.
Never seen an issue like this in all the automotive experience I have, but I've never done a lift... so....

You may want to start an individual thread with the pics and explain what’s going on, it may get a little more traction.
The only thing I can tell is the angle of the axle definitely does not seem correct, but I’m not sure what’s causing it.
There’s some very knowledgeable people on here it just may take them a bit to respond being a weekend.

    Will do.
I am going to reinstall the factory on driver's side and see if the angle calms down. I need this vehicle to be operational by Monday so maybe next weekend it will be lifted! Lol
Thanks for your input though! ItsI appreciated!

    Your install looks fine.
The axle angle looks normal for the lift.

It's normal for the ball joint to contact the spring on full droop.
If you want to get rid of that then get a set of aftermarket UCA's.

That sucks... I looked at some UCA and it didn't seem them alone would get it "away" from the spring. I guess I just assumed to move the ball joint out would be bad as it would hit the tire then.
It is hitting when the truck is sitting 100% on the ground also, not just when jacked up, fyi
I did just post a new thread, sorry I didn't notice your reply u til after.
The only thing I could think of is a longer spindle, like what the 4" and up kits have.

The UCA's would extend out a little farther and in return push the ball joint and the top of the tire outwards. Then an alignment would get the tires straight up and down.

Yup. You're correct. I'm just tired of fighting this damn thing. And tired of being misinformed by the people who shouldn't... you know who you are

Thanks so far forum peeps! All your input is great!!

I’m just confused as to why Toytec would list these as compatible when they obviously don’t fit correctly. Nowhere on the page does it say “requires new UCA’s”.

Does the site state it does not fit the TRD package? Just a hunch that maybe the components on the TRD might have been different. I know when I looked at some for my truck, granded mine was a 2nd Gen. But they stated would not fit TRD packages.

I would also like to throw it out there that I bought the 3" coil over eibach from toytec for my 2008 SR5 and got it on measured before and after. It is 3" exactly. Now I am running 285/65/18 on a factory tundra rim no rubs or weird stuff going on. Took me about 5 hours to install with beer breaks included and 2 of my good buddies.

No fitment restrictions except the 5 bolt or 6 bolt. Hell most of the 4x4 and 2x4 stuff is real close as well. Thanks for the thought!

That's awesome! Glad it worked for you... it looks like there was a window of dates that some made it through that didn't work or were not the right height etc. Ofcourse I didn't realize that this thread was more for 2nd and 3rd gen. So I shouldn't have even interrupted, lmao.
    Sweet truck though!

I dont think it is just for 2nd or 3rd gens. I think that's just who has been weighting in. I hope that you figure out what the deal is and its and easy fix.

I had to drop the springs down to the 2.5" setting. I still have contact from the upper to the spring at about 2/3 travel.
Eibach has an upper that is made for this "system" but no where do they say you "need" it.
So in a few months or so I will probably get them... at over $500 it's outside of the current budget.
Here is a "done" pic... (not my house, lol!)

I just bought a set of Eibach coilovers last week and have yet to install them. They're
only set at 2". Has this whole spring rate sh** been rectified or should I return them? Cheers.
