Internet pricing on trucks

I know the toyotathon is a great time to buy trucks......how good are the internet prices they give you? What is the best way to get the best price on new truck? I live in San Antonio and there are several dealers to shop from

 

True Car is a nice start, gives you a realistic ball park and considers dealers around where you live. Though if your willing to do some tough haggling, you can get an even better deal than True Car sometimes. I got my Tundra for about 6k off MSRP which was about 2k under what True Car said.

Also to add, what prices the dealers list on their website vary quite a bit. I've seen some that throw in like every incentive that could possibly be given, but yet turns out most people don't qualify but for one or two so the price ends up more. I've also seen some dealers basically just put MSRP and factory incentives on there as the dealer price, so you can easily end up haggling for a lot less. That's another reason why I think True Car is a pretty good place to at least begin with stuff.

 

This is what I do... and did. Pit them against one another for the best price. And don't be afraid to travel to a more Toyota-rich environment. I was prepared to travel across the country for the best deal if needed. Didn't end up having to do this. In fact, it's the first vehicle of my last 6 that I didn't have to leave the state to get.

 

As it turned out, I bought three vehicles in 2016. I always checked TrueCar for negotiated prices and let the dealers know that I did so. What I found was at the dealers or more ready to increase my trade in value than they were to come off on the price so that TrueCar would show a higher price. Which works out the same for the buyer.

+1, last fall I requested a quote on a Tundra and almost instantly I received one at $6500 off MSRP or 15% on a 2017 TSS 4x4. Not the truck I wanted so I passed but I could have could it a little lower.
