I don't understand all your suspension lingo. You should post some pics. I like your wheel and tire combo though. I've never seen those wheels. Your truck looks great. I like that color.

What's up with the black fender? Is it aftermarket or just primered?

They are fiberglass fenders that came in black gel coat. Kind of a primer coat. It hasn't been high up on my list to paint them. Pics will come hopefully today. I am starting with a pile of parts and a removed front suspension so there isn't much to show at the moment. I'll be figuring out the lower uniballs and lower arm design most of today I'd assume. That's where about half my time is going to be spent on this project.

Cool. I didn't realize anyone made a lower uniball option for our trucks.

Total chaos and solo make uniball lower conversion with their heim steering conversions. They are a little different than what I'm doing, but they look really nice. The way the factory lower ball joint is oriented scares me a little so I really didn't want to use it.

Edit: looks like I was mistaken about total chaos having a uniball conversion.

Great work buddy!! Have you considered getting LCA ready and upper mount for secondaries up front since you are going this far into the project with custom work?

Thanks. I thought about it, but settled on an internal bypass coilover. I think there's potential there if I can tinker with it enough to work. It was cheaper this way, but probably not in the end after I'm done. I probably should have just done a TC setup and ran a regular coilover. I think I like the frustration of doing weird and hard things. Not to mention I'd have waited longer for the TC suspension to arrive than it would have taken to install it haha.

Hell yeah. And if I don't like how it works I can make normal shock hoops without a terrible amount of work and the lower arms really wouldn't take too long to rebuild now that I have the fixture and files.

Thanks man. I'm just stoked to have my truck back and running. I've been chipping away at this thing for about 2 months and I'm tired of driving my little fun truck around. The little truck rides rough and makes a lot of squeakes and such and just isn't as comfortable as my tundra.

Not gonna lie, this is some pretty impressive work. Did you end up fabbing up the UCA's too?

Did you model the LCA's after anything or was this all from scratch? The reason I ask is because I have access to a serious laser cutter. I've done CAD work for 10+ years so I know how much time you probably have into these, but I would definitely be interested in the CAD files if you just kinda ever felt like sharing

Yes I did the uppers too. I didn't really model it off anything because the shock setup was less than conventional. I did the lower pretty much all 2d unfortunately. I was going to do a nice model I solidworks, but I actually thought it would take too much time upfront. I don't know if that was wise or not. I made a fixture using the factory lower and extended it out 3.5" and moved the tire forward about 1" for more firewall clearance. I've done a couple suspension setups this way and they usually go together alright. I think the only thing I have in 3d right now is the steering clevis that seems to work well actually.

I admit that this lower was a clusterf#ck of pieces and j probably should have just kept it simple, but I had to try something different.
