I just saw this on Amazon, and wonder if anybody has experience with it. Sounds good, but I don’t know anything about this one.

Looks like a Chinese Fortin knock off for the same price. Give it a try and report back.

Did you end up ordering this unit, OP? If this is the same unit as in the group buy and is cheaper I may go this route. It's also prime shipped, I see some people are waiting quite a while for the group buy ones.

I wanted to give an update, I ordered this unit and installed it this morning. Very easy, it's the same unit as the group buy's and took around 40 minutes.

It's the same unit in all of the install videos I have watched of the Fortin units. Same connectors, same programming etc.

I just finished installing this. 100% plug and play in my 17. It is a fortin unit and programs in about 14 seconds.

Awesome, it's hard to pass on this unit when others sell it for upwards of $350. I have been enjoying mine, totally worth it.

Happy to spend the extra $15 with JRT on the group buy but if that wasn't going on I'd definitely buy this one

That was my thing as well, I don't mind supporting a forum vendor but after reading the complaints, Prime shipping sounded wonderful.

    Not many yet, mostly stock.
Just bought one from a thread by @T-Rex266 for a plug an play Fortin auto start made exclusive for the tundra, $199. There a big GB going on currently.
All the GBs are great because it’s at a discount on quality stuff... so far that I’ve participated. You might want to check it out. I haven’t gotten mine yet just ordered a few days ago. Good luck

Mine too, I really enjoy it. It's not the remote starters fault but the stock key is the weak point. I can't justify the wireless unit to overcome this quite yet...

Zero issues. As stated earlier, I start my truck with it twice a day x 5 days a week minimum for work. So it certainly gets use.

It works as far as the factory remote does. So if range is a concern I’d test out how far away you can be while seeing your vehicle lights blink.

They make a cell phone module that can be installed with it so you can remote start from your phone at any distance. Anybody using this?

I have the tech12volt system with the car link module installed. They both work great and I highly recommend buying from james. He is always super helpful and sometimes it’s worth a little extra to have the support good companies give you. Car link is awesome use it everyday.

I am seriously debating getting one of these, it has been on my Amazon wish list for months now. I can't come to spend $600+ to get a factory remote start installed. My only concern is the warranty implications with installing this remote start.

The best mod to date. I park my truck outside due to a wood shop and the wife's highlander getting priority in the garage. I installed this unit last year after summer in anticipation of winter. It worked as expected and came in handier than a pair of pockets on pants. I use it every morning to warm up the truck while I make my coffee before getting on the road.

For the member who asked, the engine will NOT turn off when you unlock the door. In fact, on some days I will unlock the door and load up before getting on the road. I will say that it does have a time out feature where it will shut the engine off. I believe it is around 15 minutes minutes. Also, if you do not heed the warning of putting your key into the ignition before stepping on the brake, it will cut your engine off. Just turn the key off and on again to roll.

And, finally, if you have the wireless armrest cellphone charger. This unit will not be active during remote start. It will not activate it until you turn the key and put your foot on the brake.

Really guys, my best mod to date. Good luck!
