Curious, for those that sold their Tundra, what did you replace it with?

I have pretty much drove every generation of Cummins and Duramax. Our work crews at work have both. Duramax all day every day. Quieter and more refined ride. The Allison is where it is at. We have about 6 Duramax and 4 Cummins, 5 Power Strokes. All are bought new, ran for 3 years and dumped. Power Strokes have been the most expensive vehicles ever, Ram will nickel and dime you with little stuff, Duramax has by far been the lowest cost of ownership over the past 10 years.

Our owner has enacted a new rule of absolutely no more Fords allowed. He buys our Project foreman's new 1500 Sierra Denalis to drive around in and they have actually been really good also surprisingly.

I had one of the early year 04 Duramax and kill myself I got rid of it a few years back.

Bought a new 2006 Tundra in August, 2006. Drove it for 11 1/2 years, sold it to my daughter and bought the 2018 Tundra in January of 2018. I don't do other brands.

Love the 2500, I like that I can hook my trailers up and carry loads without sitting on the overloads. Plus I needed to move up to a larger gas tank, tundra was only netting me 180 miles a tank when pulling the camper. Larger tank in tundra meant going up in the trim levels and I didn't want to do an aftermarket tank.

I liked the tundra, it did what it could well and was fun to drive. But the 2500 does the duties I need it to do much better.

Sold my 2006 for a Ford, then a Nissan, then bought a 2018 tundra. 16 months with the other makes total was the most painful truck time I could have had. Hated the Ford. Don't ask why I bought it. Liked the Titan XD, but it was a lemon and Nissan bought it back. Came back to the most reliable thing on the road. Happy a year later.

Sold my 01 and bought my 2010 Rock Warrior as a divorce present to myself.

Sold the 2010 and got my 14 Jeep SRT. (Should have never sold the 2010).

Saw my old 2010 a couple months ago at a gas station, same dude who bought it from me. Tried to buy it back, but he said he’s keeping it until it dies.

So decided to sell the fiancé’s Camry, and let her drive the SRT..... and I bought an 18 Platinum about a month ago.

I love my SRT, but sure feels good to be back in a Tundra again.

Don't think I'll ever sell my Tundra, but I did sell my 2012 Toy Taco and replaced it with this. Needed a family vehicle and was NOT going to settle 20170622_132351.jpg with a minivan:

Tundra. After 17 years with the last one (and it was still in great shape except for paint) I'm not taking chances on something else. I know what I am getting.

Ummm....I sold it. A friend of mine is a GM mechanic that helped with any repairs and maintenance that were needed, which actually weren't many. HOWEVER, the air suspension collapsed on me..I mean upper wheel arches hard on the tires...going 35mph down the road. Luckily I wasn't going 75. I loved it on the highway, had leather interior and tons of space, and it was a beast offroad. But the air suspension issues were my biggest gripe. When it works, great. When it doesn't, down right dangerous. So I sold it. :D

    I still want a Defender, though.

Great. My friends wife just purchased one. Oh well, tried to tell her. The little turbo 4 cylinder does move nicely though.

We had a 2003 Discovery for eight years until we sold it to get the Tacoma. Looked awesome and fun to drive, but repairs were painful and it leaked constantly. It was unreliable as hell and getting closer to major issues at low mileage. Sold it for a bunch to a local college student.

I would love to have it back, but it's probably long dead.

Yeah, mine was a 2005 LR3 with the 5L V8. Smooth engine with lots of grunt. I would hope that Land Rover addressed the MANY issues with the air suspension in later models. IDK. That's not always the Land Rover way. And most mechanic shops won't touch em, which means astronomical costs at the dealership or specialty auto shop. As my mechanic friend said "it's got alot of really, really stupid systems on it." Hope it works out for her.
