lol idk how I do either! I do have 60lb tires on (275/70/18 ST Maxx's) and live at 5k elevation. Reno is a stop and go town. Very little highway driving.

def not for MPG. The cool factor is one of them, and the extra power is amazing. Also how a diesel truck can seemingly run forever if taken care of, and holds its value like crazy. A 15 year old 2500 is still going for 24k!

This can get pretty costly. Search my post on what it costs to DD a diesel vs having a commuter car.

I have daily driven two diesels (pre-dpf) and they turned to piles of costly shit.

Now, if I don’t have a load on a trailer or snow on the ground, my diesel sits in the garage.

Ok, you guys win. I’m just gonna go with the Ridgeline to play it safe. I can’t tolerare things not working properly, mechanically at least with a vehicle.

Duramax engine is awesome, but everything around it is still Chevy. It's a great truck when it is running, but you will see the dealer more often than with the Tundra. No way around that.

Diesel is for 18 wheelers, heavy equipment, and ships. I especially like the idiots that put exhaust stacks on their rigs. Such a great look. Whenever I see one, I think " wow, he's really COOL."

My vote is supercharge the tundra. 550 torques at 2000’ish rpm is close enough to diesel power.

Don't waste your time or money on a diesel unless you use it daily for work in order to make money and can do the maintenance through your business. I had an F250 Super Duty with a 6-leaker diesel before owning this Tundra. The maintenance costs are ridiculous for both routine and periodic maintenance. With the new diesels you're also looking at fuel filters every 10-15k miles. Granted I live in Alaska where costs are super high and it's cold more than it's warm... not very welcoming for a diesel motor to begin with... but given the purchase price of both you could really dial in a gas driven truck and still spend less than the purchase of a new diesel. Last point, Tundras hold their value like a quality diesel truck. Equity will always be there when you need it for your next Tundra ;)

Close only counts with nuclear bombs, grenades, bad sex, and now SC Tundra torque I guess.

The Tundra maxes out torque around 4100rmp with the SC, and by half of what a new generation diesel puts out. Great for towing.

Ughh, I live in a place where there are faaaarrrrr too many bro’s dumping piles of soot out their 6” stacks. Blacked out tint, 12” lifts, 35” tires are bush league to these twats. Slip tank and tool box in the bed with only enough room left for a pair of rubber boots in the box. Dont forget the metal mulitia stickers and the “fuck Trudeau” (our prime minister) plastered on the window. Sometimes Im embarrased to live here.

Bad sex comment from personal experience?:rofl:
I hear you about modern diesels and torque. But my truck can spin out at 80mph if I put my foot down. And goes 0-60 in about 4.5 sec. And it's much faster offroad than any diesel I've seen. :quickdraw:
I don't tow enough to give a damn about tons of low end torque. I'm all about the adrenaline rush of unleashed speed.:ballchain:

So if you had to buy a gaser for daily driving and fuel mileage was a priority, which vehicle would you pick?

A car doesn’t work for me. I currently have a Camry I use for work and my Tundra for weekend stuff and family trips. Trying to consolidate to one vehicle if possible. My work pays for my fuel but I still need to be sensitive to what vehicle I select.

Most of the people here dogin' diesels have never driven one. They daily drive just fine as long as it's a single rear wheel. The difference between a Tundra and tuned diesel is the difference between a Ferrari and a mustang. A Tundra is way more practical trust me but diesels are fine machines. I'd own either no problem. A dually is a different story as far as drivability and daily driving goes.
