Spent a couple of days agonizing over which vehicle to buy and after doing the math, decided to buy a vehicle that closely matched what my current vehicle was. Current vehicle was a 2005 GMC Yukon with a mild lift.

Needed something to tow my utility trailer and UTV and to go into the woods for camping and hunting. The Tundra would have been great, but I needed more passenger space for my giant dog and grandkids, so...

Bought a 2019 4Runner SR5 with a few goodies. The Tundra was just not commute and run around town friendly, which is what I do 99% of the time.

Pulled the trigger at $36k and drove it home. Got 19mpg on the road I normally commute on, so that's going to be around $50 a month in gas savings compared to the Yukon.

Plus, I freaking love this thing!

Guess it's time to find a 4Runner forum with as many friendly and knowledgeable folks as this one. Suggestions would be appreciated for this heretic and traitor. :D

See you at the 4R forum. The 4R is a great truck. Different than a Tundra for sure - but it’ll never let you down. Tested and proved design... much like the Tundra.

I would have gotten the Sequoia and stayed here. But still a good choice!

Nothing wrong with a 4Runner. They are solid through and through. Enjoy!

Congrats. I owned a new 2014 4Runner Trail Edition, which was white. I loved it and sometime regret trading it for the Tundra.

My wife selected and bought her 4Runner back in 2015. Through a couple of vehicle swaps my wife ended up with a 2017 Camry and I got the 4Runner. Last December, I traded the 4Runner for my 18 Tundra TRD Sport. It took my wife about a day to ask me why I traded her 4Runner. I thought it was mine. Anyway, she now is driving a 2019 4Runner Limited. Payback! But she (and you) are in great vehicles. Enjoy it!

Nice. Still in the Toyota family. I have a friend that has a 4 Runner and within a year of buying it, four of his coworkers ended up buying a 4 Runner too. Lots of aftermarket companies making things for those.

Had a 2018 4R offroad premium, but sold it. It was great, except for the gas mileage. Still have an 85 4R which is the trail toy. 4runners.com is a good start. There’s also a decent 4runners section on Tacomaworld.

Plenty of 4runner love. Second one we've owned, first being a 2011 limited.

4Runners are the best platform that Toyota makes, IMO. We have owned 2 of them - a 2016 and a 2005. I wish we wouldn't have sold the 2005 - that thing was fun with the V8. The 2016 was nice, but the V6 is hard to go back to after having the V8 power previously. Best of luck.

I had a 2010 4Runner, which was the first year of the current Gen 4Runner. For 6 glorious, problem free years, she ran like a champ. Traded her in with 98,600 miles and the dealer gave me $20,000 for it. While I do like my Tundra better, I have nothing but good things to say about the 4Runner. That's a great purchase, you'll be very pleased with it.

I’m gonna get a 4runner before the current generation is ended. I love the looks and I don’t think TOYOTA would ever make one as bulletproof as this gen. Since I’m keeping my Tundra, I guess I have to let go of the G37....

Congrats on the 4Runner. I love those trucks.
I have a 1999 with over 250k miles and never been in the shop (standard maint excluded)
I struggled long and hard over weather to get another 4Runner or Tundra. I wanted something a little larger and went with the Tundra.
When I get ready to downsize (and I will), it will be a 4Runner.

First few days in the 4Runner and I'm loving more each day. I blacked out the rims and it looks much better. Hooked up the utility trailer and took a load to the dump. Everything about it exceeds my expectations. Averaging just over 20 mpg in my commute. That's $50 a month in gas savings.

I'm discovering that women love 4Runners... Lots of positive feedback from female friends on social media.
