Need Suggestions - off-road tires with stock and no lift

Hello Guys,
im leasing a 2017 tundra CM, Limited, 4x4. i recently started off-roading with my son and we had a great time. However, im looking to buy some new tires and not sure where to start.

so far, some say that 295/70/r18 will fit on stock wheels, others say 295/65/18.

i want to have the someone off-road tire look 1.25" wheel spacers for a nicer look.

i cant lift the truck or do any mods since i'm leasing it.

what do you guys suggest?

 

I dont think a 295 will fit without a level or lift. Im running a 285/70 on a 3 inch lift.

That's because you're running an aftermarket wheel with a lower offset. You can fit a 295 on stock wheels.

 

Possibly. I am running a 0 offset on mine.

 

I run Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac All Terrains (snowflake logo) here in Colorado, stock size, no lift. They look badass, perform even better and it’s the only tire I’ve ran the last decade. There’s really no reason to push the limits on the size, go with a 285 and call it a day, you’re never gonna notice that vs. the 295 or whatever. I’ve played the stuff-the-tires, trim-as-necessary game before and no more.

 

295 should fit stock, but if you're going to use spacers, they may rub because it changes your offset. Sounds counterintuitive but if you have a wider stance, the outer edge of the tire may catch the arch, in which case a 295 may not work. There are so many ways to do tires and rims, I'd ask a tire installation professional. BFG KO2 or Nitto Grapplers would be my offroad tire choice.

 

295's on a stock wheel with no wheel spacer will be close the the UCA. Without adding any sort of lift in the front your best choice for no to minimal rubbing is 275x70x18 or 285x65x18.

Does you lease say that you can't modify the truck? You could lift the front with new coilovers and save the stock ones to put back on when the lease is up.

 

@OR18TRD No rubbing? I’ve seen in other threads that, that size does. I just bought a 16 TRD Off-road with the stock LTX’s but want something a little more aggressive looking and a tad bigger.
