We're sending them out as quickly as possible. Right now it depends on what your ECU ID is,

Well got it loaded into the truck I emailed them about a few questions I had because I'm not quite sure if it loaded properly. The base tune I got might not have gear locking or none that I'm aware of yet. So being a n/a I haven't really felt a difference in it so I'm curious if maybe the tune is a base for just fuel economy or what. But not sure how to check and make sure it loaded and has everything.

It's my understanding that after the flash (or attempted flash) it should say either "completed successfully" or "completed unsuccessfully". Easy to overlook as the text is very similar. I believe that there's another method to check that's supposedly a bit more obvious, but I'm not familiar with it. Only that I think there's something involved with trying to use the flash manager to identify the ECUs ID. That may not be even close though.

    Update, I found more information:
Run the "Read" feature on the ToyFlash tool and if it says, "Wrong ECU Selected, Completed Unsuccessfully", then the flash was successful. The reason that it says that is because the tunes are read protected.

Huh. What tune did you ask for?
He sent me an email asking for what mods I have and if I wanted 91 or 93 octane. At the time I got his email, I wasn't sure/couldn't remember if the gear lock was written into every program, so I specifically asked for it. From reading his blog, it looks like it should be in every tundra tune. Have you read up on it or watched the videos?

Also... You are the first NA guy that I know of to have the OV programming... bragging rights!

Interesting Matt from OV Tune posted earlier on this thread he will not be selling anymore until he is caught up with the backlog of existing orders. Several of us on here have been waiting 3 weeks or more.

Agreed. We will have to hope that folks are paying a little bit more attention to any peculiarities such as that. I guess that's kind of what those of us that loiter around here will have to assist with.

So I just bought another battery for my laptop. It's about 7-8 years old and runs windows 7. It still works pretty well, but I have to buy a battery every year and the laptop is huge. Id like to get something smaller and that lasts more than an hour and a half when it's unplugged and was think about getting a pixel book. The pixel XL is the best phone I've ever had and figured the Google Chromebook would be good to.

But... I'd like to be able to use it for the OV program. I've read bits and pieces of people using some program on non windows computers to do this.

Do you guys have any idea how that would work? Or is that just a bad idea?

No offense taken, but I believe all questions asked so far have been respectfully tactfully done and typically in response to deadlines he hasn’t offered then missed, such as stating they would be getting the rest of the waiting tunes out this week. When that didn’t happen and no updates or responses from the vendor are sent it’s naturally going to elicit questions from customers who’s payment have cleared and timelines from the website weren’t met. I sell software for a living, I fully understand the process, but also planning for scale, managing customers expectations etc. I dont believe anyone has been aggressive on this thread, nor tried to paint Matt into a corner.

We are continually working on files and sending them as we write out patches for various ecu versions. I can't give an exact date on any specific CAL ID, but we work on them on weekends too. So for most it's any day coming up, if you haven't received already.

Also try to not get confused between the Tundra and 3rd gen Tacoma stuff. 3rd Gen tacoma ECU is totally different.

There are 10x more CAL IDs for the Tundra than Tacoma too, so it can take a bit more time for some.

Thanks for the update. Much appreciated. I would categorize the pressure here as excitement rather than frustration.

What’s up with there being so many CAL ID’s for the Tundra? Are there benefits to that or a reason toyota would do it that way?

This was something that I was wondering about actually but wasn't going to bother asking about as it really doesn't contribute anything, near as I can tell. Pondering this trying to distract myself from the bee sting I got to the face today while on a motorcycle ride (sympathy-fishing), I might speculate that there are many more IDs for the Tundra because the 5.7L (2007-present) has been out longer than the 3.5L (2016-present) and the fact that there are the FFV versions in addition to the non-FFV ones out there, not to mention S/C'd variants of both; all having revisions by Toyota over the lifetime of the engines production. I hope that sounds plausible. :D

That makes sense, i didn’t realize the taco engine had a revision so recently. 2007-present is a long time for revisions in the ID’s

    Ya, went from a 4.0L to a 3.5L.

    @TruckyTruck
I have a current Pixelbook, I haven't read of anyone trying to run the OVT software on anything else besides an Apple machine of some sort. I think that it's pretty unlikely that it's currently feasible, I'll poke about some to see if I can find something though. I understand your situation though, my Windows machine is on it's second battery, has a 17in screen and the hinge is very delicate. I was thinking about just getting some sort of power converter to take care of the short battery life and continue to milk it from there as long as I can until I break down and get to new one and need to bother OV for new registry stuff.

    Cool, I appreciate that.
When I was out of town, I tried to pull my ECU info and couldn't. I bought a converter to power my laptop, but with the battery being no good, it was sucking down my truck battery when the truck engine was off and the key was in the on position. Anyway, I ended up having to run an extension cord out to the driveway to use my laptop.

    LOL, I've done that too!

Oh, and FWIW, I'm finding NOTHING suggesting the OV software having been successfully made to run on ChromeOS.

Yeah, I may be reaching when it comes to doing that. It would be nice to have it on the pxl book, but not a huge deal. My laptop is a 17 inch too. Too big to be taking with me anywhere. It might as well be a desktop!
