I extended the wiring and installed my switches in the center console. It is hard plastic, so easy to mount, and right under my fingers when my arm is on the arm rest.

 

What camera did you go with??

I just removed mine from my truck, after I installed a new Kenwood radio. I was going to list it for sale if you're interested you can PM me.

 

All you need is camera and the harness right? Do I need to get any other cables?

You won’t need any other cables. Just the camera, and the cables that come with it, and the FRAC Harness.

 

Took me two days to read all 41 pages. Took me about 20 min to realize I need this harness. I will be ordering sometime in the next couple of weeks.

 

Any potential sale or group buy coming? My wife approved this mod but I can wait if there is one

 

Not at the moment. I’m selling these as fast as I can build them. A group buy would swamp me at this point!

 

For anyone on the fence, I would say don't hesitate. Very quality product. One of my favorite mods. I researched the front cameras and at first bought the Toyota Logo Camera. It stuck out too far from the logo for my taste and I broke it 30 minutes after the install with my wash brush. I order a different one from Amazon and love it. I watched the video from @TundraTex and followed the directions. Didn't have any problems.

I freely admit I didn't read every post!... but is there a capability somehow of recording? Anyone try and mount in the hood bulge?

 

Yes you can record. The FRAC Harness provides RCA video plugs for both the front and rear cameras. Search DVR in the product window below the thread and you’ll find what others have used for this.

As for the hood bulge mounting, it could be done however it may limit the downward visibility near the bumper so it’s not an ideal position if you’re interested in seeing how close you are to the parking curb.

 

So, any word on the 2020's? I know it'll be completely different.

And does anyone know of anyone in the triangle between Detroit, Port Huron MI and Toronto (Canada) which can do a quality install? I'm in London Ontario.

 

Still working on the 2020 Design changes. Waiting for some new parts to put the prototype together. Toyota decided to change the connectors and some of the pin assignments on the 2020. I'll definitely post here when the 202 FRAC is ready.

 

Brother just bought a 2020 Limited, he is upgrading from a 2007 version. as soon as he purchased he called and wanted to know how to get the front camera working...he has ridden to Montana twice with me and is sold on the utility of the FRAC Harness. I will be watching to see when the 2020 version is ready!

 

I have Now received all the parts I need to build the FRACv3 prototype. I plan to put it together and test it on the bench this weekend. Still looking for someone local (D/FW) who wants a free V3 Harness in exchange for doing the final installation checks in their 2020 Tundra.

 

I'm just north of Austin, If you don't have someone closer willing to test it let me know.

 

Will be honest. I read all through the FRAC gen. 1 and a bit further... this is an awesome product you’ve developed! I have a 2018 non-gps tundra (only with phone Toyota app gps) and definitely need a FRAC! Can I be included on the list for one? What is the price now a days? Thank you in advance!
