    This happened to my dog one time and I did exactly that, I squeezed it out. when I was able to get her to the vet, she actually told me NOT to ever squeeze it out, to let it drain naturally. By squeezing, it damages the surrounding tissue and can cause the tissue to die making it harder to heal. She said in the future, let it drain naturally and keep it clean w/a warm wet compress from time to time until you can get antibiotics. Glad your baby is on the road to recovery, I know how stressful it can be. You should give that other vet a piece of your mind, sounds like she needs to go back to school.

    I'd take that with a grain of salt. You can apply pressure to assist with draining, but I'd agree you dont want to pinch and squeeze. We do this all the time to humans, the area is already damaged from the cyst, the stuff needs to come out to promote healing. Then ideally flushed with iodine or normal saline.
