I had a the shorter bed on my "crew cab" Tacoma... It was miserable :( Bought the Tundra 6.5 bed and all is well  A 5 foot (or whatever) bed has no place in the truck world.

Had a 6.5' box and the SuperCrew cab on my F1-shitty. Never needed more than 6ft of box length. Have a 6ft box on my 05 Tundra. Never needed the whole thing. My next truck will be a CrewMax. I'd rather have the available seating and temperature controlled, secure storage space. If I can't fit something in the bed, then I'll use a trailer.

You can fit a quad and shut the tailgate in a DC.. Cannot do this in a CM.

You can fat pack 6+ people in a crewmax, you can't do that otherwise.

It’s just better for hauling your boyz to the mall...

    But fo real:
    - rear AC & electrical outlet
    - rolling back window
    - bigger rear seats
    - looks way better than those half handled mid-doors (I should have put these in order)
    - you can never add more cab space to a DC (but you can always add bed extenders and trailers for a CM)

Yeah debated between the two but the crew is very nice with a family. Once the kids are all grown up I will probably go for a double cab.

Been there, done that too! I love the looks when you have 12’ 2x6’s” through the cab. It works great for the infrequent times I have to do it.

I can fit 6 in my DC Bench seat up front.

The dc has vents under the seat and a accessory outlet in the back. The vents don’t have a lot of volume but they work. The cab gets ice cold. I actually think the dc looks more proportionate than the CM. I really think I would prefer a cab configuration in between the crew max and the double cab. Instead of a 6-1/2 foot bed or a 5-1/2 in the CM. I would like a 6 foot bed and a cab of the DC 6 inches larger, instead of a foot larger like the CM.

CrewMax (to me) looks more like big SUV with a short bed. Much more space in rear seat than many will use. I get the car seats thing, makes perfect sense.

Double Cab looks more like a Truck!

Several dudes on here convert the back seat of their CM into a sleeping space. Ain't never seen that on a DC.

CM can haul my family and dirt bikes and gear with no space issues.

And my kids cant kick the back of my seat.

And the DC looks awful IMO
