Note to anyone else doing this. Don't use a pocket knife to remove the old bulbs. Made contact and blew my 7.5 fuse. :(:(:(

One of the few times that I did something right the first time, I used a plastic one.

Same here... had to use pliers to get that tiny footwell light out though. Just did it yesterday afternoon. What a huge difference! Should have done them when I first got the truck. Did puddle lights also.

It's going to cost me though... showed the wife and now she wants me to do the same on her 4R...LOL

What a difference it makes. Looks great with the soft white vs. the gloomy yellow. Cheap mod/great look.

Do you have a favorite source for these and the model numbers? I would like to do this to my 2018.

    Thanks in advance!

I second the VLEDS. I went with the 5.5k. Map light, cabin, foot well, puddle lights, and cargo, license plate, and visor lights. It’s a shame that a $45-$50k truck doesn’t come with these but makes the interior look great.

The customer service at VLEDS is great as Jake and Eli worked with me on getting the set up I was lookin for.

take some tape (masking or cellophane etc) and make a little loop so you can stick it to each 'side' of the old bulb. Makes it easy to pull out (pulling on the tab of tape).
Saw it as suggestion on youtube video and it worked great.

lucky you didnt blow the BCM (body control module) which controls the lights and a few other things. would see a post on the tacoma forums every once in a while someone changing out the oem bulbs for leds and blowing the BCM (~$700-800 dollars) doing the same thing touching metal deflector while removing the oem bulbs. i used duct tape to pull them out.

also make sure you get polarity correct putting them in (or if you spend the money get dual polarity leds like vled use to sell)
