I made the mistake of routing my exhaust to close to my rear diff and the and sensor cable that runs on top of it this it melted it in half. I ordered the new cable and will change the exhaust up to accommodate this issue. Question: is it safe to drive without this until I can fix it? Thanks

Yup. I’m assuming your ABS / Trac / VSC lights are staying on, which means your truck ends up reverting back to non-ABS braking like the old days, and the other systems aren’t functional.

Is it possible to splice it temporarily until you get the new harness?

Just make sure you either unplug the battery or disconnect the harness while you get it all spliced back up. Just so you don’t short anything out. I’m sure you knew that but just in case LOL

Update: Ordered the new cable to arrive Tuesday. In the meantime, cut the end off the exhaust where it was going over the rear dif, dumped it right before so its not going to melt anything now. Spliced the cable back together, all of the dash lights are off now as well.

    Thanks for the advice peeps!
