2015 Tundra Pro Tire Size

So I’ve read through the countless threads about 295/70/18 tires on a stock Tundra Pro. Some say it rubs and some don’t. Does anybody have a definitive answer for me on whether or not I should pull the trigger on the 295 or if I should just settle for the 285. I’ll be using the stock Pro rims and I have zero modification done on the truck thus far. Any and all help appreciated.

 

I have a 19 pro, put 295/70/18 Falken wildpeaks on. Only had to remove the little mud flap in front of the front tires. Rubbing gone

I’m going to go with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 if I decide to go 295.

 

I bought 295/70 Yokohama Geolander MT’s and mounted them to my stock ‘15 Pro. From what I’m told, they run kinda big for that size. I think they’re basically 34.5”. At full lock, yeah I did rub the plastic on the mud flap and the plastic behind the front bumper. I removed the mud flap and dealt with the very minor rubbing of the front plastic for about a month. I have since bought wheels with +18 offset. Our stock wheels have +60. This means the tires moved out about an inch and a half. I then removed the plastic piece that’s behind the front bumper. Yeah there’s a gap that exposes my fog lights, but fuck it.

Just get the 295’s man. You’re gonna regret it if ya don’t. I think the Nitto RG’s are very slightly smaller than my Yoko’s. So you’ll only have to take the front mud flap off. Also, look at the Toyo RT’s. They won’t rub.

 

Damn nice truck! Alright I’m pretty much sold. Last question: read on a thread that the 295’s could screw with the gears some. Anything to that? I got full unlimited warranty so not overly worried about it.

 

Well, what do you mean screw with? Is it gonna mess up your tranny, no. But you’re increasing the circumstance of your tires so there are things that come with that. You will lose some MPG, which you probably knew. I think I went down a full mile per gallon after going to 295, maybe a bit more. it’s also important to mind your driveline. Most guys that jump up to 35’s, which 295’s are real close, install a carrier bearing drop kit. It’s a simple install that realigns your drive shaft. With 295’s you would never notice, but it’ll start vibrating if you increase the angle any more. Check out the Coachbuilder threads in here. Mucho informative! As far as regearing... do it!! It’s spendy as fuck tho. If you’re gonna regear, definitely get it tuned by D.A.P.

 

So essentially the coach builder just gives you way more room in the wheel wells... is that the jist? Read up on regearing and it seems to only be necessary when throwing big boy lifts on and 37 inch tires and bigger so should be good there. Thanks for your help. Ordering the 295’s tmrw.

I have 305/65/r18 KO2s on my TRD Pro - no modifications, no rub...nice ride

 

Whelp pulled the trigger on 295/70/18 Nitto Grappler Terra G2’s. THEY FIT. Just take the mud flaps of the front. Rides smooth thus far. Can’t tell a difference in road noise. Heading down to the NC outer banks next week to rip the beaches for the week. Thanks for the advice!

Just putt some 295 70 18 general grabber x3's removed spat from front. No rub nothing. Slight road noise, a little more body roll and shitty gas mileage. But they look awesome

 

Took her down to OBX to rip the beaches for a week. What a blast!

 

No carrier bearing drop needed if you’re not lifting the rear end. Larger tires do not require a carrier bearing drop. Only if you’re adding longer shackles blocks or lifted springs etc.
