Curious how one acquires a Jowett housing. Every time I've looked over the past year or two, it's always out of stock.

I guess I got lucky, as they had them in stock when I ordered about 7 or 8 months ago.

Started replacing my factory speakers today. What a complete PIA. The 3.5” mods fit in the corner dash but require a little trimming. They sound pretty freaking amazing though. Got the 6x9 3 ways in the front doors and the mids in the dash. Going to install the 6.5” two ways in the rear doors tomorrow. Can’t wait to get some subs in next.

Looked at quite a few running boards and decided I liked the width of the dealer-installed boards, just couldn't stand the chrome. I should have asked them to switch them out when I bought the truck, but just didn't occur to me and I was unaware they came in black until a month later. I also really liked the style, so I had them sanded and sprayed with LineX. I'm pretty happy with them, curious what your thoughts are. We will see how they hold up (which is why I had it professionally done instead of messing it up myself.)

The converter that the dealer gave (sold) me with the truck kept backing out, so I ditched it and put in a USB outlet. The kit came with several cords (lightening, mini-USB and micro-USB with the converter.) The cords are great, but the converter never stays in the socket, so don't waste your $$ with it. Also installed the jam handles... love those things!

    This thing blows

For all 6 speakers and some inline bass blockers for the 3.5” it was about $197.

The bass isn’t much on the door speakers but it sounds better than the factory. Once I get some new subs and box I should have a full sound. Not sure what subs I’m going with yet. Any recommendations without spending an arm and a leg?

I have those running boards. They came on the truck, from the dealer, when I bought it in December of 2016. Mine are factory black. They work perfect. Perfect. I like that they stand off from the truck body about 1" - 1.5" so I can get my whole foot/boot/flip-flop on the running board. I'm very surprised more guys don't run them given their perfect utility.

Looks great, gotta love the touch of blacking out the hardware. Don't know how you did it, but when I did mine, I found out to last, I had to powder coat them. Hopefully you have better results than my 1st attempt with rattle can. Just fyi, the p.c. is holding up perfect over the last couple years in case you didn't and got to go that route too.

Some could say I might be partial in preferring them blacked out though.

I used a self-etching primer before painting. We'll see how long it lasts. I've been kicking around the idea of putting LED's in there, so if it doesn't wear well I may play around w/that idea. I picked up a couple of test bolts that have LED's in them a while back, but they're a little fat.
