    Well, I live in California and it is very true, this state sucks! From high gas prices, taxes, to unreasonable registration fee's for trucks... California sucks and can hardly wait for my kids to finish school so we can move! Born and raised here, last few year's have changed my mind about this state.

    Grew up in Alaska, but lived in Utah, Iowa, Arizona, Texas and now Michigan and all of them have pros/cons. I just could not justify the taxes and cost of living that you have to deal with in Cali. It is a beautiful state to visit.

    Hey, I'm from Louisiana. Perhaps, but getting better, one of, if not THE, most corrupt states in the US. We laugh because it is almost mandatory that our Insurance Commissioner report to prison after his term is up. We also have some of the highest insurance rates in the country. Go figgur. It is not as bad as it used to be. During Hurricane Katrina a Texas company went to New Orleans and offered to PAY the city to haul off the abandoned, water soaked cars left to rot. Mayor Nagin passed on the deal and hired a company (good old boy system) that the CITY had to PAY to remove the cars.

    We have half the roads Texas has. Our road budget is roughly TWICE what it is in Texas and our roads are shit and theirs are awesome.

    Knock my state. I don't care. I knock it myself. But I also love the culture. One of our governors went to federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison for taking bribes when issuing state "gaming" licenses to the riverboats. "Gambling" is illegal here. He escaped MANY other charges because he was a populist and juries wouldn't convict him. In statewide elections the coonasses south of I-10 usually win out. NOTE TO MODS:COONASSES IS A TERM OF ENDEARMENT IN LOUISIANA. IT IS NOT CONSIDERED OFFENSIVE.

    I take no offense when someone says something true about my state.

    As for mods here, I have been chewed out for a "religious" post. (Which wasn't. It was a humorous post about a dog needing an exorcism because of the red eyes that showed in the picture. Dogs looked evil. Lol. Just red eye from the flash AND that was stated in the post) The mod actually had the audacity to chew me out AND told me I should be thankful that he was the one handling the matter instead of one of the other mods who wouldn't be so forgiving. :bowdown: THAT is the problem with deity syndrome. (Oops, another religious reference). Ooh, the first thing I did was cower in fear and kneel before the almighty. NOT.

    This place is just uptight at times but the members are cool.

    Unfunny pictures thread was locked shortly last week because ONE person posted a joke. Mod was right that the post shouldn't be here on this forum. But delete the post, pm the member. Don't lock the thread and screw everyone else. If it happens a second time, issue a public warning.

    One actually made the comment to me that he wishes he could make the whole thread go away.

    I've lived in California my entire life and your answer is 100% accurate. There's a lot of stupid laws in this state and I'm pretty sure it's to keep people from moving here. One out of every 100,000 people in this state are actually from here I think. States' full, try somewhere else like Michigan. :D:p


    Also, we have the best tacos. Not the trucks, actual tacos.
