What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

Drove it to work today, man it’s nice being able to roll down both windows will driving. No rattles from the dash. (Plenty from the rear window and driver side door)

Mode selection doesn’t work right, pretty sure it’s the cable got popped off the controller. Should have my door lock actuators tomorrow so should be able to get the keyless working too. She’s coming together. Next step is suspension then body shop for rest of the body work and paint

I like that grill guard. You and I are practically neighbors. I'm in Loudon County.

More hard work ahead today after yesterdays 7 hours doing the bed liner. Today will be clay bar, polish, and wax day. The side boxes still need to be installed later if there is time.

 

I discovered white Plasti-Dip. Took that nasty bug deflector off that had rubbed down to bare metal, taped around the scratches and filled them in like rock chips. Figured I might as well hit those chrome grille strips while I was at it.

Look out mirrors, you're next.

Thanks, Limited taste on a SR5 budget. I sure wish I could rattle can a sunroof onto this sucker though.

 

I generally don't like sunroofs in vehicles (just something to break and/or leak)....but I do kinda miss the one in my 2005 DC for one reason. When you get on a back country mountain road, open the sunroof, all 4 windows AND the rear roll down window, it's the closest you can get to an open air experience in a Toyota "Truck" unless you are in an old FJ40.

For the life of me I don't know why Toyota doesn't make a modern FJ40 (and no the FJ Cruiser was not it). With Toyota quality and an open air off-road experience, they would sell a bazillion of them...

 

Best part about summer for me is putting my truck into "convertible mode". It's especially fun to roll down the back window at a stoplight while some white sunglasses and flatbrim hat wearing bro with his bimbo girlfriend in a $80,000 jacked up F350 is behind me. The looks are priceless.

I can only imagine the conversation "ummm babe? Can like your truck do that!?"...."wtf? that thing is old as shit"..."like right? i totally thought you had the coolest truck."..."aww c'mon baby. that truck is tiny and old"...."uh yeah. and still like totally awesome. let me out. i'm like totally going to drop my panties for him."

 

About time we saw some pictures of your truck. That's a very clean DC and we all know white is the fastest color.

 

No pics, but this week I have:

• cleaned it inside and out
• mounted new tires
• cleaned under bedliner
• changed oil

Next up I need to install some extra wiring for 7 way.
