what happened to your speaker cover?

 

The factory plastic is ridiculously restrictive and I built custom angled speaker baffles to give the speaker a chance at clearing the center console and avoid phase cancellation. When I'm done tuning, I'll build custom audio fabric grilles that cover the cut plastic and return it to an OEM look.

 

oh nice. i need to upgrade my speakers and headunit yet. i just dont have the funds right now to drop 1300 on the headunit and then add speakers as well.

I've heard too many horror stories of them corroding and seazing to the valve so I've just stayed away.

 

AMP Research passenger side rear bumper step. Easy instal about an hour of reading and instal. Only losing the thin long bumper bracket that attaches to frame and rear lower quarter bumper, but step bar unit makes it more secure 10x.

 

Just filled in the stamped letters, and when I looked at the first pic, realized that I never remembered to take off the dealership sticker. Guess that will be tomorrow! Lol
Oh and they reflect! (See the last pic)

 

Did this yesterday, removed the flat black ones to the raised Red White and Blue.

any material that's not plastic or of the similar type (brass or copper dont remember which is on the end of the schrader) will cause dissimilar metal corrosion

 

I’ve had this happen on my wife’s car and had to cut the caps off with a hack saw blade and peel them away from the threads.

 

At just shy of 2700 miles, picked up my 2019 from the dealer after getting brand new rear axles (originals were slightly bent) and new bearings. Got my permanent tags during the same visit. Frustrated but still love the thing!

Not what I would have expected. Nothing in terms of ride feedback. I was hearing what I thought was a warped rotor - cyclical rubbing sound from the passenger side that only presented during average braking. In the short time
I’ve had the truck all I’ve used it for essentially is commuting.

 

I'm still tuning the system. I like being able to see and actually reach down and feel the speaker during high volume tests. I have the templates fabricated, but haven't decided on the material for the finished grilles. I may mill it out of aluminum, or Fab it out of MDO.
