Quick question

so I’m adjusting my Kings coilovers in front and was wondering if 14 threads showing on the driver side and 12 on passenger side is too much? Thanks.

 

It puts some preload on the spring. But rides pretty decent. 14 on driver is enough to compensate for driver lean. You can drop some if you want to take some load off the spring. Just keep the gap of threads close or around what ya have between passenger/driver for the lean.
What you have now should get ya around or a little over 3” lift

Thanks Chris. Those do look safer. Lol. I barely clamp down on the springs. I compress the springs just enough to make it easy to use the Kings punch tool on the collar. Use plenty of wd40 and it works pretty well. Making the full turn sucks cause there’s not an even amount of holes in the collar and the coilovers top mounts get in the way so I had to get creative and use a 1/4” drive extension that fits in the holes and another 3/8” drive extension and hammer and tap it so a new hole comes around so that I can use the punch tool. Took me about an hour and a half to do both sides.

Not unless you put your fingers in there while adjusting for some reason. It could happen and lose a finger. Good call out on the dangers though. Kings look great btw!
When I installed my toytec I noticed drivers side had a little more turns than the passenger side as well.

Hope they don’t scratch or chip the coils

 

Only the master tech at the dealership is allowed to touch my vehicle due to a previous issue. The cam tower leak took a month and a half to fix. Also when they did an oil change a newbie broke the part that holds the oil filter housing. After those two issues and becoming friends with the master tech, the service manager only allows him to work on my truck. He did my 35s with no issue so I’m not worried about it.

 

I do my oil changes now.

Unfortunately my luck sucks with me taking my truck in. It always takes way longer then normal. I get her back tomorrow. But I’ll post pics when it’s back in my possession

Oh you know it is. Had to wait over two weeks for the gears to go in and lockers to get repaired and then I finish the pinch weld mod and adjust my coilovers just to get my tires and alignment done and some more waiting. I’m going nuts here. It’s bad enough to deal with the gear break in period. I just want to take it off road and test out the rig. Really though, first trip out I’m going back to that obstacle in Tahoe area that I got stuck at and conquer that. Then I’ll be happy.
