I'm glad I found this thread. I currently have a 2013 Tacoma and am tired of taking two vehicles whenever my family of six goes camping and we need to haul a lot of gear. From the responses, I see the bench seating is available in the SR5 Off Road Crew Cab, but I'm wondering if you are limited to the 4.7 Liter engine. From what I've seen on the Toyota website, the Off Road package includes the upgrade package, which for 5.7 V8's, replaces the front bench seats with bucket seats, adds a center console and 36 gallon fuel tank.

I have the 5.7 with 6 seats. It does have the small fuel tank tho. I wish it had the 36 gallom but when i fill it up im thankfull i have a small tank lol

I just bought a 18 double cab with bench seat. So what is the size of the tank since it is not the 36gal fas tank?

Hmm 26 or 28 some where around there every time it says empty it always takes about 20 gals only

Cool thanks. I would think a truck would burn more gas holding a heavier gas tank full. Im hoping this powerful engine will be better mileage on the DC compared to the CM but really dont know the weight difference. But im sure the truck will struggle less holding over 10gals less of gas while driving around town.

The biggest bummer in my opinion was the small gas tank, but that can be swapped out.

Just wondering, how did you get one with Leather? I'm only seeing SR5's with no leather. I MUST have the front middle seat, but hate that it looks like no manufacturers can offer it with all of the options I want.

If you saw (p)leather that’s definitely dealer-installed or aftermarket.

The 6-seater seems to be viewed by Toyota as a base model work truck and isn’t offered on anything other than SR or SR5 trim levels.

Even then, it’s not available with option packages most folks want (e.g., SR5 Upgrade or Convenience packages).

These guys are correct I got the Katskin seat covers installed after I purchased the truck.

I recently purchased a 2018 Tundra that seats six for the same reason: large family. These Tundras are out there, but you have to know what to look for. I am in SoCal and I found that most dealers aren't even that familiar with the trim levels that offer the six-seater, so just because they say they do or don't have one over e-mail or the phone, get pictures before you drive to the lot to see it. I noticed some dealers don't provide photos of the interior on their websites, so you need to look for the column shifter in pictures of the truck's exterior as that's a dead giveaway that there's a front bench. The reason for this is that one of the most common option packages offers bucket seats in front with the shifter on the floor.

I noticed you said "TRD Pro package", which is a bit tricky. TRD Pro is a trim level that is not offered in 2018 so nix that from the equation. There is a TRD Off-Road package and a TRD Sport package, both of which are very different than TRD Pro.

I have to clarify first that I am only talking about the SR5 trim and not the SR, Limited, 1794, or Platinum. My research was only for Crew Max, but I suspect Double Cabs are the same. The basic SR5 with zero option packages has the bench, but as we all know base models are loss leaders and therefore, they aren't that common. The most common SR5 option packages I saw within a 500 mile radius of SoCal were these:

+Upgrade Package: bucket seats, 38 gal fuel tank, and a few other things; no bench
+Convenience Package: color-matched rear bumper with the parking sensors and a few other things; this only comes with the Upgrade Package above; still no bench
+TRD off-road package: LED headlights and fog lights, TRD wheels, skid plates, and Bilstein shocks; bench possible if neither of the two packages above are also included
+TRD Sport: I never encountered these with a front bench and suspect it isn't offered.

So if you see the color-matched bumper, there's no front bench. If you don't see a column shifter, there's no front bench. If they say it has a 38 gal fuel tank, no front bench. Before you walk on the lot, get them to email you a pdf of the window sticker. Otherwise, you might be wasting your time. Based on their online inventories, in all of SoCal there were fewer than ten of these at the time I was looking. I was able to find more in NV, UT, and AZ -- not sure why that is.

You have some errors in your information here... not sure why you said there is no 2018 TRD Pro package?

SR5 is the only model that has a bench though.
You can get exterior add on, like color keyed bumpers, grill, wheels, etc, but no upgrade packages

I purchased a 2019 Toyota Tundra Crewmax SR5 4wd Off-Road package + front bench seat. I too wanted maximum seating / space for family+

I admittedly was patient in my search for this particular truck/package.. even drove 253 miles out to make the purchase …

I will say it’s absolutely everything I wanted & makes me feel like I did something right for once‼️

It’s already been to a college football & a concert tailgate, hauled railroad ties, brush, metal salvage, plus multiple trips to the local ice cream shoppe with kids upfront ❣️

This forum and you all are excellent
as is my Toyota Tundra
