TRD Big Brake Rebuild Kits

I have an opportunity to purchase a well used BB kit. They have about 40k on them and look like it.

I've read various threads here but nobody mentions where the sourced the rebuild kits from. The calipers will need to be rebuilt and the rotors are probably scrap.

So, looking for some sources, numbers etc for a rebuild it and rotors.

Right now I need to figure out if I can do this. As mentioned, looks like a rebuild is in order plus new rotors. Also, get the calipers powder coated if I go through with this.

 

I had mine powder coated and then rebuilt them myself. I got all of my parts from https://www.zeckhausen.com/. The TRD calipers are actually made by StopTech and are model ST-65.

So I went to the zechhausen website. The TRD rotor is a 323x32. It doesn't list this size. When I search for this size it only comes up with results for the whole kit at 2K plus. I cannot believe there is not a replacement rotor in this size.

So, here's a rough estimate. $1200 for new TRD rotors, calipers, rebuild kit, powder coating, etc. $500-600 keeping the stock calipers and going for high-end pads and rotors for all four wheels.

Your thoughts, please.

 

The TRD BBK rotor is 406x35 and OEM is all you will find unless you want to spend big money on two piece hats. StopTech can’t sell the rotor due to their agreement with Toyota. Sorta like the TRD supercharger made by Magnuson. While StopTech does sell a couple different BBK’s for the Tundra, they are slightly smaller at 380mm and uses the ST-60 6 piston caliper. I listed the zeckhausen site because they sell all of the parts needed to rebuild the calipers. I’ll put a link below that goes directly to the parts page. Lastly, the best price I found for the OEM rotors was Amazon.

 

I have the supercharger so I wanted to go all out and get the BBK as well. The stopping power is insane compared to the stock brakes, but if you’re not towing a lot you may be completely happy going with the cheaper option. I’ll add that I also went with the StopTech sport axle pack for the rear and it’s been great too. It comes with rotors, pads, and SS lines.

Yes, I found the page and saw the Amazon pricing. I, like you, thought that Toyota has a contractual agreement to not sell the rotors. Otherwise, we are building up our own kits. Same goes for the caliper halves. You can get every piece except the 2 main parts to keep you from building your own calipers.

 

I'm considering the BBK because I saw a cheap way in. I've decided to put some $$ into my truck because it's obviously cheaper than a new ride. With the direct bolt-ons and the aftermarket, I can get 85% of a new truck for thousands less. I still need the seller to send me more detail pics of these calipers. I see some spots which I want to see up close. Plus, I have a 90-minute ride to meet-up if I pull the trigger.

 

The seller seems to be balking at my request for new pictures of the TRD calipers. That's okay though, I can go either route. His loss.
