How many of you would say a winch is a must, how many would say it is not? I feel like your options are so stinking limited if you want a winch. I love the Westin Outlaw bumpers but it does not have a winch option.

Depends if you take your Tundra in places where you may need the winch? Off roading on trails? Do you want to help pull out other cars/trucks? Then yes.

That is the shit part, I like to go places we arent supposed to take our fat trucks lol. Only real option I see that is worth a darn and high clearance is the ADD Stealth. Their price is just nutty.

Most aftermarket bumpers with winch options are quite exorbitant! But you want quality and reliability with what you’re doing!
I’ve got on order SS Built from here in SoCal, high clearance and custom skid to match up with RCI trans skid.

That front bumper doesn’t show but it will have a winch.

Hmm I would have to see more pics of the front. Looks busy and I don't like the push bar on the front.

Trying to look at all options and things that may not be necessary. Price is adding up quickly between suspension, tires, wheels, regear with locker, etc lol.

Sad part is I have to do a front bumper at the time of lift for clearance since I am going with 37s, if I do the bumper I have to decide on winch lol. Once 37s are on I will hate life and want to re-gear, if I am already in there for re-gear I need to do the locker haha. Damn it, it never ends.

I have a 12k winch mounted inside a Fab Fours bumper. I've used it exactly twice out here in the mountains of Colorado, never for self recovery. It was cheap, maybe $600 or so...so why not. Definitely would not consider it a necessity but more of a nice to have sometimes.

Ha! Here’s my latest chain reaction. Dented 3 of my 5 wheels. Need new wheels but to prepare for upcoming LT, I had to go 0 offset with 37’s. Installing glass fenders to fit that. Then remove it again to paint. Also need tie downs for spare tire in bed. Will probably have to redo CMC. And then regear and locker. Finish installing switchpro and on board air for locker. :annoyed:

I currently don't have a winch on either of my trucks. I usually carry 4 maxtrax and a shovel and thats been more than sufficient.

Honestly I think not having a winch forces you think more about what you are doing to keep from getting yourself into a bad situation.

Body armor makes a reasonable winch bumper. Mounts feet down only.

If you wheel solo I would say yes it’s a needed addition. Sometimes driving on the beach solo I wish I had one just for the moment something crazy could happen and I need it of course in that even I would need a sand anchor too
