Yes I called around to a few places but found a shop that strictly does gears they gave me the best price. And they are getting me done this Monday so not a bad wait time. And I like the red because it is different from every other tundra in my town.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.
    Haha!
    Yea...Complete overkill.
I've just used it for some ideas on the interior.

Have you seen the Toyota tundra 6x6 Hercules yet?
That's overkill. And yet I would still mob it

Everyone is loving the red! I cant wait until my interior guy calls me and lets me know the rest of my red is in so I can get the job finished.

So I've had my plates for the BMC for a few weeks now. Called my local truck go to shop and they said they dont like doing it and that they dont have anyone in the shop that does it any longer.. strange because it's one of 2 places in town that deal with lifted trucks and the second place just doesnt sit well with me. Everyone is over 70 the newest parts on the shelves are for 91 Silverados. Anyway it boiled down to me having to do it myself
    20190628_105947.jpg

    20190702_134924.jpg

This is when I got nervous. Cutting into my 2019 truck. Instantly started having second thoughts about doing this on my own.
    20190702_140234.jpg

After cut was made minor grinding and hammering plate to were it needed to be the pressure slowed

    20190702_143634.jpg

Some minor wire wheel/grinding to smooth things out then paint. Second side went smooth and turned out even better than the first. Probably because I wasnt second guessing myself. I ended up with more room on the right than the left but overall I'm happy with how it turned out even more because I did it rather than the shop

    20190702_163716.jpg

    20190702_164235.jpg

Then moved a few more minor things out of the way for that little extra room and its done. Now on to gears tomorrow and then try to hold off on the 37s as long as possible because I just put these 35s on

I dont have one laying around either. I had to give "pops" a call and have him watch over my shoulder because it's been a few years since I've put a bead down. Always good to have friends with toys you can use.

After 3 full days of being in the shop finally got my 4.88s in. Cant feel much of a difference yet because I'm taking it easy for a "break in" period but hoping for good results. Only pictures I have is the receipt but this was the final ticket price. Now question is.. I put my 35s on 3k ago do I wait until I need new tires or do I jump to 37s and sell 35s.. keep in mind I'm suppose to be saving money for our wedding in September lol

So far so good with new gears! Haven't seen over 11 mpg in 8+ months(since stock). I do drive more aggressive than most. And I am taking it easy to break in new gears but I am liking what I see so far. But aside from feeling the difference in shifting I'm not disappointed in performance this far.. will update further after 500 miles and oil change when I can drive normal again

Took a couple pics of my tailights for someone to show them how they turned out after VHS nightshade job. Figured I would show a close up. These are the stock tails but added hvs and clearcoat some taping and alot of in between wet sand but this is a cheap alternative to aftermarket tails did a month ago but never to late to show
Turns out looking really good of you have the patience

As long as your not squeamish about tearing into your dash it's really easy not a whole lot involved. 10mm socket a Philips some snap clips and some pressure. Looks worse than it is

There are 4 boats on my street none have security devices I figured if I put a boot on mine I'm the least likely to get my boat stolen lol. I'm in a safe neighborhood but rather safe than sorry!

I've snatched my stereo out. I scratched my center section and want to replace it. I was just worried of the instrument cluster had to be removed.

So took my truck to get more red in the interior today.. pulled the armrest off and then pulled door panels to get these pieces off for red

    Screenshot_20190715-211636_Gallery.jpg

But turns out those pieces are attached to the door panel by melted plastic so in order to remove you must cut/break plastic then who knows how I'm going to reattach without screwing that up.. so thanks Toyota now I'm not doing those door pieces anymore

I can’t believe you got front and rear gears for that price in Cali! We’ve done 3 sets of Jeep wrangler gears in the last 2 months, $2500-$3000 parts and labor per Jeep w/no lockers for both axles. Nice job, you stole those!!

Yeah, that did include a full bearing overhaul kit and outer wheel bearings... so that may be part of it. Hope the new gears treat you well!
