We were just discussing this earlier in this thread. Do you have the owners manual? I would check that to be safe but it should be

75W-90 in the front diff and transfer case and 80W-90 in the rear diff with the LSD friction modifer if your truck has the LSD.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I don't know that it needs changed, I just thought I would as I do need to top it off after the CV axle swap.

 

It can't hurt. If you've never done it I definitely would. Especially given how easy it is.

 

I don't have a manual, previous owner lost it. How much does the diff take?

 

I feel like the 06 may be different but here is what my 02 takes.

• Front Diff-1.2 qts
• Transfer Case-1.1 qts
• Rear Diff-3.1 qts for 4WD with LSD. 3.7 without LSD. On the rear I fill until it starts oozing out the fill plug. Make sure you're able to open the fill plugs on all before you drain. You'd be screwed if you drain and then find you're not able to get fluid back in.

Yep, that's what I did. I also am part of a buyer's club that guves me another 4% off.

I couldn't get the drain plug off with my regular 3/8 ratchet so I just topped it off until I can get a bigger one. It took 12oz before it started coming out of the fill hole. I think the new CV may be leaking. I cleaned off everything and will check it tomorrow.

 

Any recommendations what to get/stay away from for a lower ball joint? I need to replace my RF.

 

Do both with OEM. OEM only in this case.
