Just bought a new tundra today. What would you all recommend for the first wash/wax? I have all sorts of products just didn't know if I should wait a while for the paint to cure? Clay bar? I already have foam cannons and such...

First weekend I had the truck, I clay barred it because there was contaminants in the paint already, then hit any spots with some polish that needed it. Then put down a sealant. Then the next time I washed it I put a wax down. I’d say at least decontaminate the paint if it’s needed and put a wax down on it.

If possible give it a good clay barring, then correct any paint swirls and get a ceramic coating on it. That's an extreme measure but it would be a great time to do it, especially if there are no swirls or marring present. A good ceramic will give you 3-5 years of protection and you can apply it yourself for under $100. If you opt for the simpler route, clay it and put on a good sio2 sealant

I also washed my truck when it was new, but I really don't like a clean truck. It was designed and made to work, so in my opinion it is okay if it looks like it is working.
I think it is super sexy if there are mud splashed on a truck.

I have a 3 month old Tundra Pro and I washed it, clay bar, washed it again, used a scratch and swirl compound with a buffer and then used denatured alcohol and wiped it down.

Did a ceramic coat and just put a second coat on yesterday.

Looks like I wash covered it in glass so far.

I like the look of a used dirty truck too...but I got to wash it every so often to show she can still clean up good for a night out on the town. 20190609_064405.jpg20190509_174403.jpg

Tim, if you ever get an opportunity, try out some Jescar Powerlock. That stuff makes MGM look pretty dope.
