Has anybody considered the amount of funk that makes it down into where your shifter is? I'm considering modifying mine and installing a boot. I know where to move my shift selector so that's not an issue. I found this online, tell me what you think.s-l400.jpg

Like it and have seen it here before, have not seen a DIY write up on it though. Think it would be a great mod and a millennial theft device since it looks like a standard. No offense...well whatever

    I think it's a great idea.

That whole piece is easy to pry up. I’ve been pulling it up and cleaning that spot about once a month. It does get dirty, but all the seams do too.

I did the same thing @Jim LE 1301 did. It’s a great crumb catcher and the glare from that chrome ring around the gear selector is gone now too!

It's been done quite a few times on here, myself included. Very easy, kinda pricey because of the Tacoma TRD pro shift knob, but totally worth it.

Would this be possible for those of us with RWs? I know...I've wandered into 3rd gen territory with my 2nd gen. Here in an internet pic of what my shifter looks like. There isn't a button on it or anything. I hate trying to clean all the little crevices created by that weird shape, and the recessed gear labels, too.

No, you specifically need the Tacoma trd shift knob for this to work as it is very “short” which allows the boot to rise up the shaft and look normal. Any other shifter, tundra trd pro or whatever, is too big and the boot would look super funny b/c it would be scrunched down...

I liked the idea so much that I tried to get one for my 1794. It's a damn near perfect match in leather coloring along with the white stitching. I even went so far as to get the seat gap fillers. They don't match so well but it'll do until I find something better.

On my list... gotta find the best price on the knob, wish I would have known when I got the 40% discount!

Bought them off of eBay. Closest functional seat gap fillers I could find in brown leather.

That gap between the seat and console is as tight as a tick on mine, in fact i keep my gun jammed down in there and it never moves. Weird.
