This forum has been a wealth of information, opinions, and laughs. It's a great community. While there are thousands of threads and posts and write-ups on what mod to do, I'm creating this thread to share what NOT to do. In other words, this is the sarcastic "nailed it" thread to aid in our collective learning.

A good friend of mine is a Toyota technician. This week He shared with me a mod gone wrong that ended up on his schedule. These are pictures from a 2015 Tundra with 15,000 miles on it. The owner hacked the exhaust after the muffler and didn't dump it down and away. The entire frame harness, tailpipe, and heat shield had to be replaced. Additionally, there was a tarp melted to the truck bed.

This isn't meant to embarrass anyone. Rather it's meant to be a learning experience.

That's definitely something you do not want to do!

I had to remove my tailpipe once the rear had been lowered, and the first thing I did was visit my local muffler shop where they fabricated a turn down that dumped in front of the axle using the old tail-pipe. 2 years later, and no issues whatsoever.

Good idea for a thread! I hope I never have anything to contribute to it from my own experience.

I have never been so nervous about how a video I’m watching on the internet would end. That could have gone either way. Wow that was crazy.

Thanks for this video, the next time someone says to me "that was stupid" I have video proof that nothing I have done or will do can compare to this. I'll just repeat "C'MON TEX"

Haha I did this with my old 4runner. Cut the exhaust after installing a CBI bumper and it ended up dumping towards my plastic mudflap. Ended up melting the mudflap on one side, but couldn't be seen unless you really looked for it.

Yep, first time that chick stumbles and falls while walking backwards in that pond the gators natural instincts will kick in and she’s gonna wish she stuck to working the cash register.
