first Toyota are oil and tire rotation
Here’s what my tires now look like.
Service guys did a wash and vac even tho I did not ask for one as the truck was washed yesterday
I sent pics to the service department and my salesman asking if they might have a idea what’s going on
Going to wash the truck tomorrow morning and see if I can clean these up.
    Any ideas?

Did they rotate using your spare and mount it on your rim??? After looking again... couldn't be since two of the tires look the same.

All 4 tires look the same, they were washed with something I just cant figure out what. Service says they did not touch them other than the rotation, me I am not buying it.

I am not pissed just would like to know what happened so it does not happen again.

Looks like a muddy wet very fine silt was wiped on there. Curious if it can be scratched off with a finger nail or if it's on there like glue.

That's what I think, that whoever did the wash hand washed the tires with a contaminated cloth or contaminated water or both.

I can run my finger across it and it comes off a little but not much

I could run with that if the tires had been on the vehicle more than a few months, bought the truck new 02/23. Not ruling it out tho.

But if you look at the pic of the rear tire, it looks like there are wipe marks on the tire.

Tint and wheels. Decked box in the bed. S and B Cold Air filters under the hood. Shiftpower throttle response controller.
I recently had my first rotation and they didn't adjust the pressures. Am I being to picky if I go back?

Front tires were lower per specs and they swapped front to back so the rears now have lower pressure.

I've seen this on mine. What tire shine did you use? I used a bad tire shine and it looked like that after a second wash. In my case it washed off and I switched tire shines. Hasn't happened since. Dont recall the tire shine, as it was years ago.

Order up some shine supply wise guy tire cleaner. Works great on dirt and mud and clay but also on rubber bloom, I haven't found anything better.

Interested in following this. That seems really strange - and especially since it is not just some light silt that comes right off.

ANOTHER insane dealer service story. Gonna need a crane to hoist this one onto the ever-taller pile.

    Goodness gracious.

First cold spell after dealer rotated mine the TPMS lights go on. BFGs require higher psi. It is even stated on door sticker. Same thing happened on Tacoma. Pissed that I had to get compressor out to air them up. I even told them to look at door tag. Not unusual.

Definitely like to know what tire shine you used so i don't use it. I always use the Mequires spray on, no problems.

I don't like to put anything on tires that is designed to make them shine, it's from bad experience with Armor All on dashboards. You know, that stuff that makes your plastic dashboard turn whitish over time, prompting you to use more Armor All to make it look good till it dries and turns the dash dull and whitish again in an endless cycle. I just have a feeling that long term, it's not the best thing for the tire because you don't know how it will react to the chemicals. I'll just use a little mild soap, diluted in lots of water, and a little wiping to get dirt off. If I go to a car wash, I'll tell them no Armor All on the tires and watch like a hawk. They look at me like I am crazy. Maybe I am.

That’s the only visible issue. Consider staying away from the “free” services if you can.
Yes, you are. Do not count on the dealer quick lube to do anything thorough. Air them up yourself and know what you have.

Took and washed the truck again today, scrubbed the tires and the brown was still there. Picked up some tire cleaner and shine, maquires, and it covers up the brown.

The service manager contacted me today after seeing the pics and said he would be in touch Monday to work something out.

No really all that worried about it, got the tires looking good again, but will see what he wants to do about it

I think they took it out to the local mud pit and had some fun, mud dried and they just figured you wouldn't notice.
Amazingly, they only got tire deep.

Might be best to just tell him that the issue is closed. This is truly a situation where getting it wrong once insures they will get it wrong again.

You will be besieged with phone calls then e-mails but you should consider staying the F away from the "free" oil changes.

Well I have used this dealer for going on 7 years, have a good business relationship and I can honestly say they have treated me very well. I walk in the door and literally everyone there knows me or has heard of me if they are new.

This is the only issue I have had with them, so I am going to hear them out and see what they think.

The more I read about this the more I think its a combination of the chemicals in the tire and what ever they used to wash my truck.

I am not ready to burn this bridge over this.

I know my dealership runs it through a wash and air dry. They don't do tires and stuff.... So that's weird if yours does.
