I'm new to modifications and projects to my 2007 Tundra so I wanted to start with a smaller cosmetic project. I'm getting some black wheels put on some time next week and I wanted to get away from the traditional red calipers and instead go for black. I painted them this past weekend.

I also got the rear calipers painted as well. Painting calipers in the South Carolina heat is painful. I'm grateful for the outcome.

Great job! How many coats did you end up doing? Did you prime or sand them?

Thanks! I sanded it using a wire wheel that I attached to my drill. I also used a couple of wire brushes. Using the wire wheel attachment makes sanding fun and less time consuming. (Please make sure you wear thick gloves when doing so...don't ask me how I learned from this.) I didn't prime it. After I sanded and cleaned with brake clean and rubbing alcohol I spray painted with two coats of high heat paint and two coats of clear coat.

Probably a dumb question but how do you take it off the brake like? I assume i need to bleed the brakes when reinstalling?

Not a dumb question at all homie. For the front brakes, I disassembled the brake line from the caliper which was un-threading the screw that goes into the caliper or you could unscrew the hard brake line from the softer portion. I bled the brakes after I finished just to be safe. I had trouble bleeding them so I got some help from Jiffy Lube. I recommend bleeding them after taking them off completely just to be safe.

This video was helpful for me as far as painting them.
