Yes it’s a reg cab v8 4x4.. manual everything other than the trans. (Well was.. got my fuse box for 20 bucks to hopefully make the power windows work. Also grabbed the keyless module to hopefully get key fobs working)

Replaced a rotting mid-pipe / resonator section of my exhaust today on my 01 AC - At 185k this was still the original exhaust so I had to cut most of the surrounding flanges off and make my own. Back to purring like an OEM kitten

About the same for me. I flew the Betsy Ross as usual and added the join or die for the occasion. Also a little Kentucky bourbon and a nice steak made a nice cherry on top of the day. GBUSA

Time to wrap the hood and roof? It's probably the best alternative to having them repainted.

I've been thinking about that. But being maroon I dont know that anything would look good. And the rest of the paint is good, but bad. No major damage, just dings and scratches from driving through brush. Anything I do will make it stand out. Unless I paint the whole damn truck...

Just do like Ethan did. Rattle can bed liner. I sprayed my trailer with black and its holding well. Took about 5 cans ($35).

Would look better if the truck weren't maroon. Maybe blue or grey or black or white

See I feel the opposite I have the grey and would rather have red if I was going to wrap the hood like that guy.

Drove to our local fireworks...when I left the truck (for the 1/4 mile walk to a place to actually view them) I left the rear window down. 30 minutes later and literally 10 min before the fireworks are to start, the mother of all rainstorms starts. We head back to the truck convinced they will cancel them. We get to the truck and I notice the rear window is down and all behind the seat is soaked pretty good. We go home and by the time we get there (less than 5 minutes) the rain has stopped and as I'm getting up all the water/moisture I can with some towels I hear the fireworks start going off that they didn't cancel. Went by Home Depot on the way to work this morning and picked one of these up...it will be in the truck for a few days...

Interesting product. I've never heard of it. Would you leave it in there with the windows down or up?

Up...so it's not trying to remove moisture from air outside the vehicle. It really works. I've used it in other applications and there are different sizes. This one is overkill for a truck cab interior...these things are meant to be left somewhere for weeks to keep humidity down constantly, but since I just want to get a bunch of moisture out quickly, I parked the truck in the sun at work (I usually park it in the shade) to get the moisture out of the fabric/carpet and into the air so this little puppy can put it out of the air.

That sucks man. I love that product though, we use it in our camper shell while we sleep so we don't wake up to moisture build up

It's too busy. Grey or black, not both if you're keeping the maroon.
I am however insterested in those headlights.

Since putting on my tires, the front bumper has been sitting in the yard. I figured it's going to be quite a few weeks since I haven't even ordered my new bumper yet that I might as well toss it back on and cut it. So I did! Still need to smooth out the cut but it started pouring so put a halt on it for now.

Envogue Steering Bushing Caulk Job Results:

    1) A notch quieter in cab. Now, instead of a mix of engine and (rear) exhaust, I only hear (rear) exhaust. Not that it was loud before (it wasn’t’), but now all I hear is OEM exhaust out the rear side.

    2) Keep in mind I added more Heller Fresh sound matting at the pass/diver side kick panels and that may have helped as well. We had massive amounts of rain today and I purposely drove through the gutter ponding at speed and the wheel wells sound much quieter when doing so.

Conclusion: Notch quieter, at zero cost, and I like it.

I’ll go under and take pics of bushing when the monsoons stop.

Man, you were not kidding. I don't own a tool capable of holding that thin bolt. I wasn't able to tighten them enough.

    They sure are pretty though.

    0705191836b.jpg

In addition to installing those new sway bar links I replaced that wheel speed sensor as a last ditch effort. Haven't had a chance to drive it yet and see if it works.

Also washed off all that mystery tunnel mud.

Wedge a thin piece of washer or straight metal in that small gap to lock that side of the nut so you can torque the other nut.

Edit, just remembered i had a thinner pair of locking pliers I never used. Turned the wheel all the way to get more room, jammed those in there and got it. Nice and snug now!

I would probably try bolting up the thing to the swaybar first, loosen the pivot bolts on the frame so it swings free, then drop the arm and swing the end into the lower arm. Might be easier said than done.

Today I learned just how much power brakes are needed! I was gonna put a fridge into my truck but needed to move the truck forward a bit. My driveway slopes downhill and I didn't want my wife to hear my truck, so I thought I'll just put the key in and hit neutral and lift the parking brake to roll forward a few feet.

HAHAHAHAHA do NOT try that! It started rolling and I hit the brake. Nothing. Stomped the brake, nothing! Steered a bit to dodge the Rose's and pumped brakes, no stopping. Turned the key and suddenly I had brakes.
    :D

Got the fridge in and secured and found my Viar. Pumped the tires up about 5lbs all around, I've noticed the sides are wearing a bit quicker.

NEW wheels and tires! Been sitting in the barn along with the toyotec front coil overs that have yet to be installed....wheels are Pro comp series 32 alloys and the tires are falken wild peaks.....235/85/16s now im trying something out here...size wise, and im sure i'll catch some flak from some guys but hear me out. The reason I went with these skinnies is because I ran them on the tacoma I previously owned and was so surprised by their performance. They were excellent in rain, snow, and even in mud. they weigh less...there is less rolling resistance and I therefore got better fuel economy. Ive had lifted trucks with big tires in the past and that always seemed to lead to and endless list of things breaking and wearing faster than normal and im done with that. Size wise these are a 31 in tire...and they do NOT RUB. Anywhere. with stock suspension... so far im super impressed with the way that they handle on the tundra...they are LT tires and it is a common size for duallys so they should hold up. the rest of the OffRoad world seems to run skinnies (Australia, Europe, Africa) and for some reason everyone in the US tells me I need a fat tire so that my truck will "float" more offroad... Im personally pretty convinced that my tundra Aint "floatin" anywhere, but will update on how I fare with these! Let me know if any of you guys are running this size.

Ill try to post a pic of the "skinny look" from the front or rear later if anyone is interested...I don't hate the look :)

    first the old....

Worked on the leaking cowl clip yesterday, so far so good (light rain last night and a hose-down this morning).

Getting ready for a 1,200 mile round trip drive in the Tundra in a couple of weeks, mind you that's what I usually drive the Tundra over a 5 month period. While she's ready to go it makes me a little edgy racking up those miles. The things we do for our kids...
