Also, added some more sound proofing behind the front seat lower kick/foot wells covers. The OEM type from Heller Fresh.

You sold me on the Katanas btw. I took some before light output pics last night and put them in today. I will post after pics when I get off work tonight.

No, it's a book on the Toyota Production System (TPS). There may be some podcasts on it, though.

Oh I might look for that. I read the book on kaizen.

There is a good podcast about how Toyota tried partnering with GM to trade manufacturing methods, but GM didn't take them seriously.

Got light output pics with the Katanas in. They don’t appear to throw any farther and have some funky spots closer to the truck. I need to do some adjustments on them, I just don’t know how :notsure:
I do like the color difference though. I noticed my brights indicator on the dash doesn’t turn on now also.

    Rut roh.

I adjusted mine down a hair from where the prior halogens where hitting on the garage door. Funky spots may have already been there with the halogens and are magnified by more light. I know my brand new Sylvania Halogens were streaky/spotty right before the Katanas switch. I have brand new housings as well. I run my LED fogs which fills that spot you are discussing so this spot is only noticeable with Fogs OFF (which never happens).

Brights indicator: Yours is 05 DC so your housings are different. Not sure how to help there. My 2002 hasn’t this problem, but maybe the LED fogs circumvent this problem.

There is an adjustment up/down mechanism where you stick a long phillips screw driver down the hole on top of your housing. Its a cam adjustment.

The Katanas have a turn/notch twisting action for cup adjustment. Maybe that got tweaked a bit during install? I installed mine with the housings off the truck and it took some effort to get it right.

Your new light output looks good in the pics. Basically looks like my output. Your prior bulbs did have good output as well, unlike my prior brand new bulbs.

I inspected my ABS sensors, the ABS is kicking in at low speeds, making it tough to stop sometimes.

Passenger side looked fine, driver side was covered in metal shavings. Cleaned it off, but not seeing much of a difference. May be ordering a new sensor soon.

Holy shit! That thing is nasty. Have you seen my posts dealing with the same issue? I replaced mine already but my old one didn't look anything like that. Those metal shavings are coming from somewhere. You'd likely have to fix that issue before replacing the sensor.

I'm actually hoping to replace mine again today as the one I bought off eBay is still having the same issue.

Just to recap. I started having the same issue after having suspension work done. Either I damaged the cord or they did. I found an OEM sensor on eBay for $50 when everyone else was charging close to $200. I installed the new one and the problem continued. I took it back to the shop and had them test it with their Snap On tool. It picked up the same odd behavior.

    0619191221.jpg

I then took a chance on a $20 aftermarket one from Amazon which I will install today or this weekend.

According to the folks here, the only other thing it could likely be is the tone ring on the axle. Seeing your pics seems to indicate you've got something going on with that axle.

I'll also say - if you've got that on the sensor, there's more "in there" that needs to be cleaned out. Definitely need to do some more digging into the issue. Good Luck.

Granted this was a Cadillac, but the speed fluctuations looked like this on my scanner, ended up being the tone ring

No weird noise from the front of the truck? Shavings like that are either from the wheel bearing, or if your brakes were ran metal to metal and the shavings somehow got past the seals (it does happen sometimes)

Nothing is going to be done on my Tundra today. I’ll be reflecting, as always, our country’s great beginnings. The adversity of dealing with hostile Indians the first day of landing on the shores of the Chesapeake in the 1600’s to the greatest throw off of British tyranny ever in recorded history.

We have much to be thankful for and thats what will be celebrated. Independence (in anything)is not easy, but once earned requires much effort to maintain and yields a satisfaction unlike any other.

I‘ll start by thanking Geo. Washington and his wife Betsy Ross.

Next, I’ll thank the French and Spaniards for helping us in the War of 1812 again against the Brits for the final blow in victory. We beat a super power twice in 30 years time. Unheard of before and since. Celebrate America! Ignore the crybabies!

I just finished 2 Second Lean and in it he talks about asking the CEO of Lexus what the response was from GM, Ford, etc, people when they toured the Lexus plant and he said, "Smart people don't believe that it can be this simple". I'll have to check that podcast out.

Did this to my truck yesterday...

The wife and I drove over to a place I've been wanting to check out. It's an old abandoned railway tunnel in the middle of nowhere. There was about a foot or more of water in the majority of it. Not gonna lie, it sketched me out. I had no idea how deep the water was or what was in it. Well worth the risk though.

Does anyone know if the access cab carpet will work in a reg cab if I cut the excess off. My vinyl flooring is trashed. I can get new carpet for a access cab cheap... just wondering if it’ll work

Should work because all you'd have to worry about would be worth and it’s the same dimensions I believe. Just cut off the excess for the access cab and you should be set.

I would think so. I think the area where the rear passenger feet is where you would cut, before the rise for the rear storage.

I’m thinking the same. When she’s done body work wise I’ll just order some. Worst comes to worst I’m out 150 bucks.

Thank you! I re-did my last truck with projectors so my expectation is probably too high. Even if the new lights do nothing but change the color I’ll be satisfied with them.

I noticed the adapter is adjustable. I first put the lights in upside down (metal bit of headlight on the top instead of the bottom) and realized real quick that’s now how that works!

Definitely worth the risk. Yep, you drop it to 4Lo and they will climb almost anything. Was very impressed the first time I took mine down in the canyon.

Yeah... No, I pulled off a gravel road to let a camper go by and the tire caught a stick and apparently threw it up between the door and the ground.
