I have a 2018 SR5 bone stock; a friend gave me his TRD (not Pro) shocks & skid plate that he had for 500 miles. Is it worth swapping the shocks?

If you don't pay anyone to install them it would be worth it.

Welcome. If you don't have a skid then stock is better than nothing. The rear shocks might be worth installing yourself since it's fast and easy. I personally wouldn't install the fronts 'cause it's a lot of work and if you're going to put that much time and effort into it you might as well install a bit better coil over. Just my .02

Consider swapping 5100s into them, then yes maybe worth it. But completely stock, naa.

Thanks all for the comments. This is my first Tundra; I sold my 6.7 Powerstroke because, although 800lbs of torque is nice, I'm not moving my 11,000lb travel trailer from Alaska and I was tired of always throwing codes that were related to emissions...I didn't have confidence that the truck would make it from Alaska to the East Coast this summer
    .

I'm not looking to make and mods just yet-- just got this truck 2 weeks ago. I could go nuts with wheels, tires, suspension, etc. but for some reason my 4 kids want to eat, too.

Thanks for the thoughts on what to do with the TRD shocks; I'll probably wait on doing anything to the shocks but will install the skid plate.

I waited to save up for 3yrs and did alot of research. I've got Bistein 6112's set to 1.3" of lift and 5100's in the rear.

If I got them free I'd put the yellow rears on and get some 5100s for the front

Nice looking truck, what size are your tires, if you don't mind me asking. Thanks

I was looking at going from my 2010 tundra to a 6.7 diesel but I couldn’t part with the tundra. I just rolled 150,000 miles and except for regular oil changes, transmission services and just the basic maintenance this truck has not cost me a dime.... Ive decided to run it until it doesn’t go anymore....

Welcome. I don’t think you’ll see a massive difference. I wouldn’t install that stock skid if you plan to do your own oil changes.
