Wiper arm removal

hey.... so long story short. Wife has a corolla and we put mesh to keep mice out. Went to do same for tundra but after removal of nut from arm the arm is “solid” it doesn’t just pop off..... am I missing something?

 

See that big ass spring underneath? That’s pulling the arm down against the windshield and also putting the bolted down part in a bind. You need to pull the bolted part up while holding the arm up in the air towards you. It’ll take some effort but it’ll work - a shot of PB Blaster won’t hurt.

In fact, each wiper arm can be raised to a maintenance position for changing the blades. Raise the arms up until they stay, and then you can concentrate on getting that tight spline fit loose. Might want to mark the exact position of the arms on the glass with tape or something before you remove them.
