I am game to try them with the stock cat-back though, and I'm sure Keith could make up a nice cat-back with 10" mufflers & 3" pipes if the factory unit doesn't work out for me.

yes that is a good option. Be a shame not to if you are going to go through all that effort to open up the exhaust and route it through the restrictive stock muffler setup.

I hear what you are saying, and I guess I'm one of the few that is satisfied with the stock muffler - especially after dumping it in front of the axle the way I have done. To my eyes, the factory muffler is a hybrid 2 into 1 Y pipe design segmented within the muffler housing - a very large muffler in my case. I had the factory tail-pipe shortened, creating a short resonated tail-pipe that turns down toward the pavement. It sounds more aggressive than before (especially WOT), the truck feels lighter on it's feet, it's stainless steel and it was a cheap mod.

That said, I am always interested in a proven power enhancing modification that is also cost effective, torque gain per total dollars spent to complete the modification is a factor. Long tube headers appear to have a decent power to dollar ratio by themselves, but adding a new cat-back makes that ratio less impressive. I'll sit tight for now, and learn from threads like these.

Replacing the the factory muffler with a straight through desgin gives a solid 5-10hp and up to 20lb torque which in my eyes thats alot for an exhaust. Dirty deeds just had a group buy on budget system for next to nothing. But i get what your saying.

Leaving 20 ft. lbs. on the table does sound bad, but my shorter tires may neutralize that sacrifice. My 4.30 spins more like a 4.60 on these tires.

It's not bad, and toggling up to 5th gear drops the RPMs by 1,000

@texasrho83 what did you do about a tune? have you addressed that or the catalyst check engine lights yet? I had the o2 simulators with the JBA, but took them off for the ARH install. Ofcourse i am getting a P0420 and P0421 now. Was scheduled to get tuned (and address the CEL) with Prospeed, but they told me to hold off until they release their fuel upgrades.

Ive talked with him before and he needs to dyno tune mine with all the upgrades. That really is not an option for me since it is so far away.

You could wait for the OV Tune to be released. They should be able to data log for you to get you dialed.

TRD supercharged, underdrive pulley, Long Tubes/TRD Catback, Level 10 bullet proof Transmission. He was telling me they run in to fuel supply issues, which is the problem that Prospeed is currently addressing

Yep, you’re definitely gonna have to do it in person, but it is still worth it. Think about it this way, you’ve spent thousands on upgrades so what’s few hundred more to get the final tweak on extra power?

Not as worried about the cost as i am getting it done right the first time. Although I guess i am a bit worried about what the cost may be for the fuel upgrades Prospeed comes up with. And if its worth the cost vs leaving some power on the table for a "good as it gets" tune without it.

Did you do the full trans upgrade from scratch or send yours in to get it rebuilt? What’s it rated at?

I have not yet. Have you?
The transmission was built for 700HP and i ended up getting a good deal on it. Long story short, my truck was in the shop with a bad trans and had everything setup to get rebuilt by IPT. After a week of bad/no communication and no truck came to pick up the trans we removed, i had to look elsewhere. SDHQ had ordered the Level 10 bulletproof trans for a client that backed out on them and they had it for sale. So i bought that one.

Be aware that the light rear end on these RCSB trucks lifts and dances around when you near 130 mph ... stay safe.

It ended up good, but def had its own set of issues. I had to really assume a lot of risk in this scenario since there was no warranty.

I really wanted to go with ITP, but for some reason there was a major loss of communication. Initially i asked him if he had a built one i could do a core swap and minimize downtime. He told me he didn't have any built units and he would need about 5 days to build mine once received. IPT sets up all the transportation so I was looking at about 3 weeks total turn around. We immediately pulled the transmission and had it ready to pick up Monday morning. By wednesday the truck had not shown and we were told by IPT it was coming. Well it came at late that night to a business that closes at 5pm. It never came back. After multiple unanswered emails and calls to IPT, by Saturday i knew i had to make something happen. Level 10 quoted me 4 weeks total turnaround. Rogue offroad stopped rebuilding them, but said they could make an exception for me with a 3 month turnaround. Finally in a stroke of luck, i ran across a post from SDHQ selling the built Level 10. So i placed the order and they had it on a truck ready to ship that Monday.

I called IPT again to cancel the order and he acted surprised, but i knew what was going on so wasn't trying to hear any excuses. He then offered to put a fully built AB60 trans on a truck and ship to me that day. As tempting as that was, i already placed the order for the Level 10, plus it was odd that he was offering a built trans immediately when a week prior he did not have one? That is exactly what i wanted to do in the first place. Seemed kind of fishy to me so I passed.

The Level 10 was showing to arrive that coming friday. All we needed was a day to install. I was excited. Saved some money and shaved a week off the schedule. Cool. Then the trucking company started getting flaky and changing the arrival date. Found out SDHQ fat fingered the zip code and swapped 2 digits. They had to go through some major BS to fix it. Then they lost the package. It did not show until 3 weeks later. So instead of being ahead by 1 week, i was 1 week later than originally planned. So yeah, a bunch of drama, but i am happy with the end product.

I previously had the IPT valve body in my original trans. I never really like the way the 1-2 was so harsh. Even dialed down it was a bit much. The Level 10 does not do this at all. It almost shifts like a stock trans, but you can def feel how much quicker it is than the stock shifts.

Damn that’s a serious ordeal! At least the end result is satisfactory.
How much was the trans if you don’t mind sharing?
