I have an '06 Tundra 4WD DCB Limited and it came equipped with cloth seats and without the wood trim in the cab. I am actually glad it came this way as the seats look almost new and I'm not a fan of the wood trim (so it worked out nicely for me).

I did run the VIN and it is a Limited (and has the usual color keyed bumpers, Limited badging, etc.).

I'm curious if this is pretty common or if less people would / did opt it this way when new. And if you're shopping what would you prefer?

I can only speak from personal preference that I strongly dislike leather seats. This is why I went with the SR5 package.

After seeing some of these ‘Creggssliss’ 1st Gen Tundras with beat up leather seats, I’m glad I went cloth which still looks in new shape. Plus cloth is more comfy, not slippery, and easier to clean.

My 06 Limited has leather but does not have wood faux trim. Leather still looks new but it only has 80K miles.

Leather requires proper attention and care which most will not do even if they know how to. It has its advantages though, wipes clean and it will not hold odd smells (aside from its own). I will say that the quality of the leather in these trucks is not the best and that ugly plastic wood has no place in society, it should be considered a crime. Reminds me of the 80's Cadillacs :puke:

Just throwing my .02 in(as always), but leather can be great. I present my 2 91 SHO interiors. One taken care of, one not so much.

I don't know how common it is, but they seem relatively rare. My dad's Limited truck sounds like yours (power cloth seats, sunroof, no wood). It's what I would have chosen (and did! I was about to buy it before my current truck fell in my lap), because of the power seats and sunroof, but they do seem hard to find. I don't like leather either, and while I get the benefits, I don't like how they don't breath and I always end up a least a little hot and sweaty. Add that to the southeast temps and sun here on the coast and leather is basically a no-go for me...we wear shorts for too much of the year and I hate burning my legs on hot leather seats.

I have an 06 limited AC with all the bells and whistles and I don't have wood grain or leather. Fine by me. Same goes with my buddie's 01 limited.

So maybe Toyota put more out there than I thought (Limited with cloth). Guess they saw a market for them too...

Maybe Toyota decided to appeal to the vegan truck buyer :anonymous:

All I care about is vvti, 5 speed, electric rear window, LSD, 4wd, bucket seats/console, tow package and mirror warmers :)
I really like the mirror warmers and slider window but I could take or leave those if I had to.

    Vvti is great.
5 speed trans, sounds good but I can't say I feel a big difference from the 4 speed to the 5 speed.
That power rear window is the shit.
I wish my truck had an LSD.
4x4 is great but I honestly don't need it.
Mirror warmers  I'm in the south, I speed up to cool them down.

Do you guys even get below freezing more than twice a year in Houston? :D
I've always been told Houston is a giant swamp.

On those wet and humid mornings, the mirror warmers are great. I just wish my rear window had defrost.

That depends heavily on the year.

I have had a lot of cars through the years and I really can't remember if any had heated mirrors. I think it's 1 of the features I didn't pay attention too or just didn't bother using, sorta like the headlight cleaner/sprayer thingy.
I'm originally from New York so you would figure I should be familiar with using heated anything

When mirrors freeze in St. Barts, nobody uses their cars.

I’ve used the rear defrost a few times; it’s pretty nice to have. The Rear Sound thingy on the other hand is pretty much a waste (but I bought the remote anyway)...

What rear sound thingy? I don't have a DC so I don't have the rear defrost. But I do have mirror defrosters and a power sliding rear window. Not as cool as having the entire rear window roll up and down, but still cool AF.

I didn't even know that sliding window was an option. Was that on all years, 00-06?

    Not sure.
I've had 4 pickups now (3 Toyotas) and all 4 had slider rear windows. This is the only electric one I've had.

I believe the 04-06 double cabs were the only ones where the entire rear window would roll down.

I'll snag some pictures in a bit but the rear sound setup (not sure what Toyota calls it) is set up so the front passengers can listen to one audio source thru the speakers and the backseat folks could listen to something different thru headphones - all thru the head unit. It came with a remote and on the back of the console is headphone plugs (2) and volume knobs (2). It's all outdated now as everyone listens to their cell phones...

I have/had the rear seat audio system in my 06 Limited. It's worthless since I tossed the whole JBL system with the CD/Cassette player for a modern system with XM, USB, Phone capabilities.

I do still have the back seat remote in the glove box. Why I don't know.

You can get $20 for the remote on eBay...or maybe I'm the only one willing to pay that for some cool OEM stuff??
Do you still have the remote holder that clips on the back of the seat?
