having been using and carrying a knife everywhere i go I have broken plenty of benchmades be it in afghanistan africa or here in the states. Hands down the one brand that has had my back and has not broken on me is SOG a simple knife worth a damn is the trident tried and true.

I have a bunch of Benchmades and they all have been awesome. The mini-griptilian is the perfect EDC knife. The axis lock system that Benchmade has is the best.

FYI, high carbon steel will break much easier than soft chinese crap. D2 is really tough stuff but it's not as easy to find in knives. There are some "super steels" like M390 (my current go-to Benchmade is made out of this) that are both incredibly tough and hard but it is not cheap. Mine was like $280.

Always have my smith and Wesson M&P tactical spring assisted tanto blade half serrated (with glass breaker also) on me. The Rambo/Dundee knife is always in my truck right next to my 9mm. That way I never get caught bringing JUST a knife to a gunfight! Hehehehehe

Of course, the 9mm in my truck is only temporary until I get my CCP!!

Not to mention my SOG paracord wrapped karambit in my console......what can I say? I love my knives!! Hell, still have my first one. An old buck knife given to me by my paw paw when I was 6!

If it hasn't been mentioned, Kershaw Blur is the single best pocket knife I've ever owned

I have 2, one for duty use and one for not...and I love them both

How do you like the "track tech" inserts or w.e they call them? Do they give the knife a nice grip in your hands? Plan on ordering the Camber today which is really similar to the Blur.

Benchmade Mini Barage. Easy one-hand open/close. Very tough knife. Found all over the internet for $120 but you can often find one on sale at gun knife shows for right at $100. Always in my pocket -used daily

I never feel like I'm losing grip on it whatsoever

The assisted opening is also excellent

I agree. the older models had actual grip tape (almost like sand paper) but the new ones feel similar to line-x, maybe a little more rubber feel though. the assisted opening is very solid. the blade doesn't wobble or feel loose when you flip it. you won't be disappointed.

Got the Kershaw Camber in today. Gotta say I like it so far. Seems well built. Good looking blade, good clip, good handle feel, super easy to open and close with one hand (which was important to me). This thing flies open with a little press on the flipper.

Would def recommend this thing for only $64. Hard to find S30V steel at that price.

Kershank isn't too bad for the money. I've got a Ken Onion design - great little flipper. I found that they are either really good or really bad. The Speedsafe series is one of the really good ones!

So you're all probably going to laugh at me like my dad did, until he actually handled the knife, but for the past 3 years I have used a BlizeTec rescue knife. It has a glass breaker, seat belt cutter, and the blade stays sharp for ages. It has a spring assisted quick release that is ultra reliable. I work in packaging and supply chain so I am constantly cutting cardboard and this things keeps it's edge forever. Every month or so I'll sharpen it really well with a Lanksy stone set - then I'm good for another month or two before it starts to dull.

I have had every other "good" brand of knife under the roof. I have a number of Kershaw and Gerber knives in my foot locker - I carry this one every day. I bought it when I was out of town and needed a quick replacement but didn't want to spend a fortune. I think it cost me $30 or $35. Definitely worth every penny and then some.

I'm pretty sure it was made in China.. So there might be radiation or cadmium or arsenic in the steel. That just makes it more deadly.

    I won't laugh

If it works for you, then it's a good knife IMO

Plenty of cheapo knives laying around my apartment, garage, truck etc that do the job when asked
