Im thinking of painting my brake calipers the same color as my truck (Barcelona red). When i search for high temp Barcelona red i only get the duplicolor paint that to my knowledge is not high temp. Does anyone have any recommendations or insight as to why not to paint them if i am oblivious to any issues? Thanks

I've used the duplicolor a lot in the past and it works really well. Unless you're doing something out of the ordinary, your brakes won't heat up to the point where they will burn the paint. You can get away with using Duplicolor without any issues.
That said, when I used to race my Subaru the gold calipers would get darker as they got hotter. We used to refer to them as "Brownbo" brakes, lol. But we were running 100 miles an hour, down to 15, then back up to 100 and repeat 75 times. Those brakes got hot.

If you're worried about heat, I'd go as far as looking into powder coating. But for a daily driver you can't beat duplicolor and a DIY saturday afternoon.

I used VHT caliper paint and it worked great.

Just get some high temp and be done with it OP.

I would not run standard spray paint or color match paint due the fact they will be subjected to heat and harsh chemicals from time to time.

better to be safe than sorry.

I have had fantastic results with the G2 caliper paint system. comes with cleaners and brushes and everything needed for about $40

Nice, that seems to be the general consensus on here. Either that or OEM

OEM rotors are known to warp.

I still have the stock rotors. my only concern is if i do red it will look stupid because it will be a different shade to my Barcelona red. that's why i was seeing if duplicolor would work. i definitely do not want to repeat the job later if it starts looking like garbage. another question if you spray paint do you take the caliper off the rotor or just tape everything around it?

You can tape up watever you don’t want overspray to get on. If you get it on the face of the rotor one time around the block and the paint will come off my experience with paint is that it doesn’t hold up as well like the G2 stuff that has a hardner but just my opinion I have done both and I do about 2 cars a year for different people I always recommend the G2 stuff the secret is in the prep work nothing will stick if it’s dirty
