Nice skin or mount too but he ruined it with the shovel. Looks like it may have shed recently. Also messed up some good meat. Eastern diamondbacks get a fair amount bigger than the ones we have in Tx.. BIL lives in Lake City and he has sent me pics of some real monsters from the St. Augustine area.

That’s the issue. Once they’re in my yard where my wife, kids, and dogs are, I’m going to kill them. I wouldn’t be happy about it, but that’s the reality. You’re going to have hell catching one that big and keeping it secure until someone can pick it up.
It’s especially the case with rattlers and cottonmouths. It’s pretty hard to shoo them off. They like to stand their ground.

When I was 10-12 years old, we were visiting some family and one of my uncles killed one. They decided to fry it up.

They skinned it and gutted it, and dropped it in the sink. Nothing left but meat.

It was in the sink, coiled up, still trying to rattle it’s tail. If you grabbed the tail, the other end swung around and tried to bite you. Might still be the craziest shit I’ve ever seen.

That is one big, young eastern diamondback. Hard to see on my phone but it looks to only have 4 or 5 rattles on it, he was destined to be huge. Definitely had plenty to eat wherever he lived in your neighborhood.

These snakes are not native to the Americas and presently are destroying a very fragile ecosystem called the Everglades. They have been eating a lot of the smaller native animals that are not adapted to such a creature. Gators and Panthers are top of the food chain and I think the Panthers are nearly extinct because we are destroying there habitat, the python adds to that by eating the young. Florida will pay you for every python you kill.

I think you are right about it being a diamond back, I'm outside on my phone and thought it was 1 of the many pythons we have running around here.

Had a snake stretched out across my sidewalk, I just stepped over it. My dad kept saying he was going to throw one in my pool...I figured he just put it across the sidewalk...called him and said that's a pretty snake, you missed the pool! He seemed confused lol. Then it moved. Of course I cuzzed like a sailor...dad was here in minutes...neighbor came to get it...he seen me get a shovel. Neighbor gets it, its over 6 foot long. Other neighbor sees us...comes over saying holy shit that's the one that escaped... when it was 18 inches long. He invites us to come see inside his house...his wife had poisonous frogs, walking fish, numerous snakes, weirdest house I have ever been in lol

In TN it's illegal to kill any snake, even poisonous ones.

I had to take this guy out in my warehouse a while back. You’d probably rather get bitten by a rattlesnake.

Didn’t work on a cottonmouth I encountered at my house a couple of years ago. Just pissed him off. I threw stuff at him, hit him with a broom, no dice. He forced the issue.
Had the same situation when I was a kid. One of them was next to the house, and couldn’t get him to move.

To be fair, I was gonna kill them anyway, and was just trying to get them in a better position. They probably knew it so they wanted to go down fighting.

None....yet few decals and a five star dragon Ball. Lift 4.5" in two years is the plan
Is that a snake or a small dragon? Was there a sexy white haired woman riding it?

I love chipmunks. I hate snakes and that’s all you see here in Florida everyday. So, if you’re afraid of snakes Florida is not the place to live. :)
