Hey guys. I’m getting ready to sell my 2000 SR5 Tundra. I bought it new. KBB says around 6k.
It has 73,800 miles on it. It has never seen the inside of a garage but it has been pampered. Never towed anything and at most hauled a few hundred lbs. The cab forward was painted in 11, the bed was not. Clear coat on tail gate starting to flake. Minor cosmetic blemishes here and there. All scheduled maintenance done and documented. Brakes, new in 2012, at times “clap” but I was told that’s the floating whatever and isn’t a problem. However in 13, (see photo) the front drivers door and fender was hit by a drunk driver while it was parked. All was fixed but than Carfax said structural damage on the pillar. I was told that if anything attached to the pillar, in this case hinges, is repaired that it is considered structural. Thanks in advance for your advice. 81570AB1-6E6E-431F-AF51-30B207EAC517.jpg0BABA925-1088-4D2F-8755-70F1F26CBEF3.jpg7F5B2E5C-D1DD-4E8E-9D57-63971E1B9325.jpgA9361E61-DCA7-4124-A797-4B894E3080AC.jpg9B5A34E6-677B-4CE2-B954-185BAE2B6A97.jpgF5AFC623-5D6C-4EF4-8FFF-4F73C28F21D1.jpg9AEE9FCF-CAB0-4B17-B900-DBAA505E3B79.jpg

If you can clean up those headlights and replace the fender it would probably help the sale. Even if the door is still dented it would look a ton better. That with the low miles might make it a pretty nice truck for someone not afraid of some dings. As is I'd have a hard time seeing anybody besides a hardcore tundra guy buying it for $6k and that's just because they would see the value behind the messed up fender. Most people will probably just see the fender.

Photo of damage is when it happened 6 years ago. Other photos are current.

Oh good then. It should sell no problem but I'd still get those headlights restored. Little things make certain people geek out haha.

Appears to be a nice used tundra, low miles are hard to beat. Agree headlight restore will help sale. Start with book value and see how it goes. That would be a great 1st vehicle for teen/new driver. Also great for someone who knows Tundras.

    Good luck!

I agree with everything above. I see that you're in CA. I sold my 1st gen last year as well. Be prepared for day laborers on a budget to low ball you. They want the Toyota reliability but don't care about cosmetics. But they will low ball your nice truck anyway. Hold out for your asking price. 2wd doesn't matter too much in CA, and the trucks are always rust free so I'd say hold out for strong blue book price with those miles.

I sold my 2003 for $8k with 190k miles. It was clean like yours but with some extras.

I sure love a good looking first gen like this one. If I didn’t just get a new truck, I’d be in on this one. I’ll run this past my father and see if he is interested. I’m located in Redlands.

$6k seems low. I would ask $9 and maybe settle for $7,500-$8,000. Someone will appreciate the condition, 1 owner, low miles and maintenance records.

True, and he might be able to if he waits for the right buyer that knows what he's looking at. Your pricing reflects exactly what I did.

I can't believe the value of these things. I bought mine for 9k in 2008 with 60k miles, and sold it for 8k in 2018 with 190k miles. That's almost as good as a real estate investment!!
