Supercharger installation cost

those who had the TRD or Magnuson installed. How much did you pay?

 

You know what they say, if you have to ask you can't......

 

Not really. Just don’t like getting rear ended by the Toyota parts and service department.

Got quoted $9500. Seems high. Said there’s extra labor to drop the fuel tank and they don’t get the discount that sparks gets.

 

$9500 for installation???? or is that including install?

 

That’s everything installed. New fuel pump and all.

 

The original owner of my truck said the Toyota Dealership in Austin charged him $7500 turn key back in 2014.

 

I was quoted $6500 by my dealer. $9500 seems way high.

 

Seems reasonable considering that new injectors and fittings had to be custom for the 5.7 flex fuel

 

I may be wrong, but I remember reading that on flex fuel vehicles you dont have to change the fuel pump or injectors. Because they already can flow more fuel.

 

just saying he had to have bigger injectors.

 

My replacement truck is a non flex fuel TRD Pro. So new pump and new injectors

I was trying to get it installed pre delivery so everything is covered under the factory warranty

 

The install price for the supercharger I’ve seen is $1,500 or more. The flex fuel tundra does have larger injectors and a larger fuel pump already. All though my tundra was still running to lean for my comfort or the tuners. So I elected to go with tuners recommendations to have larger injectors and bigger fuel pump installed. I’m very happy with my decision! The install of a flex fuel super charger is around 10hrs, pending who does the work of course.

 

I’ve been told less and less dealers will warranty the install anymore. The super charger used to be an option from the dealership. If the dealer will give you a warranty thats great but get that in writing.

 

I had my tundra supercharged last week non flex fuel. Parts 6998.00, labor 1,200 even with oil change and fluids. Bullydog tuner is now part of pack (came with 6,998 purchase price from Magnuson) it’s not optional, but required for the install according to my dealer. 2 day install - Warrantied. Best 8,198 I ever spent!

 

Kit comes with new injectors, fuel pump as well as the k&n intake system.

 

FFV so no pump or injectors needed and was right at 7700 installed.

 

Flex fuel is the cheaper install. You dont change injectors out with the kit injectors and you dont change the fuel pump out. So if someone is telling you different they are full of it.

Yeah mine is asking too much. They know I want it so they are trying to jack up the price. I’ll check a few other dealerships.

 

Did you already buy the supercharger and are just looking for the best deal on install? Or are you shopping for both (supercharger & install)?

 

I was quoted roughly $8K with install from Dealership about 1 year ago. I've been hesitant to move forward yet since there were some complaints about the tuning on the FFV trucks. Sounds like OVTuning is currently working on a solution and Dyno results should be posted anytime now in the other thread. If his tuning is able to resolve the FFV issues I'm going to considering making the plunge.

 

I wanted it installed by the dealership before I took delivery of the 2019 Pro. Was hoping to not have to shop around. But I’m not going to pay $1500 extra if I don’t need to.

 

I would look around for the best deal on the SC and then worry about install. I got mine from TRD Parts 4 U in Dallas as I live in South Carolina so Sparks was charging me tax and shipping so it was cheaper. Anyway, non Flex at 1500 is reasonable.

 

I guess it doesn’t matter now. Magnuson hasn’t released the tune for the 2019 yet. I just called

 

Well, the hardware is separate from the software....but I would wait if I were on your shoes.

 

I have no problem waiting. Hopefully they’ll have it soon. The tech said they have a 2019 sitting there waiting for the tune so they can start testing.
