I did use it for a while but have moved on from it. don't have anything bad to say about it just found something that foams and gets the top layer of dirt to the ground more efficiently IMO.

I use their Ultimate Wash n Wax (bright yellow) and have been pretty happy with it. It pulls dirt off well, leaves a nice shine, and like all Meguiar's items...affordable and smells good. lol.

I never got into using air fresheners, especially now with leather interior. Usually keep clean and keep leather clean and it puts off a nice clean smell. I use the Meguiar's cleaning products for interior and they have a nice smell too. Not overpowering. If I ever get odors, I usually just use something to absorb the smell like dryer sheets and/or charcoal...aside from a thorough cleaning.

    Hey detailing gurus...
I plan to do the whole wash, clay, wash, polish, apply paint sealant thing next weekend on my 2017 Platinum. Last time I used Adams Paint Sealant. I just recently purchased some BeadMaker… Does BeadMaker replace the Adams sealant or does it go under or over it?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Keep using a paint sealer like you where before use the bead maker after each wash, it will prolong your paint sealer and will give you an extra sacrificial layer IMO!! Good luck happy detailing!!

Or if you want to get crazy, after you have applied and removed the paint sealer, let the paint sealer cure for a couple of hours and put on a few coats of wax then use bead maker after washes!!

I’m not familiar with the Adams Paint Sealant, but I usually have something under Beadmaker. (Generally Carpro Hydro2)

Beadmaker is a really cool and amazing product. It provides more hydrophobic properties and better gloss than anything else I’ve used. The problem is longevity. While most sealants last months, Beadmaker tends to degrade after three weeks or so.

Putting a longer lasting sealant down first will make sure your paint stays protected once the Beadmaker wears off. That way you’re not having to reapply as often. If you go with Beadmaker by itself, you need to put more on a lot more frequently. I also feel that the layer of Beadmaker on top extends the longevity of your base sealant.

Now, this is just my opinion. A lot of people say layering products is a waste of time and money. That said, even a lot of those guys make an exception for Beadmaker, because of what I said above. Beadmaker looks and performs better than than other sealants, just not for as long.

You can certainly use only Beadmaker, just be prepared to reapply at least once a month. First coat has to be really heavy, and subsequent coats can be lighter. It’s not difficult to reapply, you can just use it as a drying aid to get the results you want.

Standard rule of thumb is sealants provide better protection, waxes look better. Beadmaker kind of bridges the gap between the two. Lots of people put wax on top of sealant to enhance the look of the paint. I prefer Beadmaker over wax.

I know it bonds well with Hydro2 and Gyeon Wetcoat, not so much with others like Jescar Powerlock. Beadmaker pretty much wipes off of Powerlock and won’t stick. I can’t say how it will bond with your Adams sealant.

Hopefully I answered your question. It’s early, and I tend to ramble.

Finally did a quick wash last night, so she’s looking better. I didn’t get real thorough, just the paint and windows. Used some Beadmaker as a drying aid.

By the way, I got this in a mystery box from Detailer’s Domain. I didn’t like it at all. Very runny, didn’t stick at all. I had to go back over it with Reset. CG Honeydew is still the king.

Thanks. I had a feeling I was probably making a mistake -- but since it's only been less than a week, I'm guessing I can go through the whole process again over the long weekend that starts this afternoon for me and apply the Adams Paint Sealant first and then BeadMaker.

I doubt you would need anything other than fine clay. Do yourself a favor and get a nanoskin mitt or towel. Or mothers speed clay. The synthetic clays are so much easier and faster

I plan to do the whole wash, clay, wash, polish, apply paint sealant on my 2018 Sport. I typically use meguires, but would like to try some new stuff. Give me your recommendation on some new gear. I also need something to clean my 35’s without hurting my rims, and also a new tire dressing that will not sling everywhere and stain my paint, yes I typically put it on with sponge and wipe it down. Thanks

@Hammerdog check out detailedimage.com and autogeek for 4th of July sales.
Look into synthetic clay like nanoskin mitts or mother speed clay or clay towels from various manufacturers

I'm a huge fan of carpro products.
    Essense soap is the best
Hydro2 and reload are great sealants, one is a spray on spray off with water, the other is spray and wipe. I have a ton of their stuff, I like the irons for pre clay decontamination.
They make a nice tire shine called perl but I'd recommend optimum tire protection coating over anything else for tire shine, you can but it from the rag company and they have a sale going on now, grab some towels too, the double twistress is a great towel.

Cleaning tires is so much easier and they come cleaner than I'd ever think that they could weigh shine supply wise guy tire cleaner, them coat them with the optimum tire coating

I think a fine clay will work for you. I would also use some sort of iron/tar remover before claying also. makes the claybar less of a job!! happy detailing!!

    @driverdog

Do you know how long the Tyre feeder lasts? Expires? I've tried a few different tire and trim shines this year and I think I'm going back to waxaddict. I just don't want to buy the 5L of it and it goes bad before I use it all.

I use chemical guys maxisuds2 in my foam cannon, it's cheap and works great. I love carpro reset for using in the bucket for car washes but I have found it has very little suds/ foam. I have not tried reset in the cannon but I have heard it doesn't foam well from a few guys

I usually do it that way, foam/let it run down 5 minutes, hand wash, rinse, clay bar, rinse dry and done. I do it when there is light contamination, after the winter I would do tar/iron remover before claying. good luch happy detailing!!

I tried the Mothers Speed clay recently, first time for any clay attempt. It seemed to work as needed smoothing out any rough areas. I washed truck first really good and then used a fresh soap bucket for thr Speed Clay. The foam should work, I would wash first though.

I would definetly get the dirt off before claying, meaning let the foam run down, hand wash rinse and then clay.

I leave it on until its pretty much all run off the vehicle but before it starts to be able to dry anywhere. Depends on how warm it is that day and if the car is in or has been in the sun.

5 minutes or so should be ok as long as paint is not warm.

I have a few bottles that I'll use this summer and I'll be definitely buying a 5L next spring along with Fo’ show spray wax.

Educate me on these tire coatings! What do I use for my 35x22 nitto’s? How do I apply it? How longs it last and how do I clean it off and reapply? Does it turn brown or crack after a while? Certainly looking for your opinions! Tired of the slinging tire dressings, etc...

Ech20 is a high lubricity cleaner not really a soap, it can he used as a quick detailer, clay lube, or waterless wash.
Hydro2 is not asoap, it is a sio2 sealant, you spray it on a set car, let it sit for a minute, then spray it off with good high pressure. If you are referring to hydroFoam then yes it's a soap and sealant in one product that has to be used in a foam cannon.

I like carpro reset alot. I also use chemical guys maxisuds2 in my foam cannon and it works great, also works great just in a bucket the old fashioned way too. It's a pretty inexpensive soap. There are so many options out there.
