Well it was a productive first day for detailing.
Started with removing every single bit of bug residue on the front end. Then cleaned wheels and then did a full wash using dawn dish soap to help remove all old wax coatings and residue.
Dryed her up and did a full clay bat job including the windows. Next, I proceeded to do a full polish using Meguires Ultimate Polish. I then coated the wheels with some 303 Aerospace (you the man @Law323 this stuff is the kitties titties!)
They turned out great. Will also do all the black trim with the 303 also. Tomorrow I will finish up using Meguires Ultimate carnuba wax on top to seal everything in and then rain-x the windows.
I do this about once a year and then I do a Meguires quick wax inbetween washes.
I could have done it all in a day but football kept me distracted. To be continued...

Did you use a DA to polish?

You will love Butter Wet Wax for it's ease of use and wet shine. It's only downfall is it's longevity, which for me is about 3-4 weeks. CG products take a bit of a beating on a lot of forums, but to me, they're like any other line....some good stuff, some not so good. I use Butter Wet Wax, Petes 53, VRP, and Silk Shine from CG and have had good success with all of them

Sounds very familiar. I've tried several different products, and I do sometimes use 'what I have time for'. Butter Wet Wax may be the easiest wax I've ever used. The results have been awesome, particularly on the silver paint on my daughters Hyundai. Just applied HD Speed to my truck and my wife's Sequoia...and it lives up to it's press clippings. Super easy off (applied by Griots DA), ridiculous slickness and gloss. I've only 'retired' a couple of products, two of which are Chemical Guys....V4 polish/sealant and Mr Pink car wash soap. It's not that they didn't perform well, I just found stuff that worked better.

    Negative. "Wax on, wax off."

I spray Aerospace 303 all over it and it turns out PERFECT. Also good for all the trim and rubber so it's a win win.

Thanks for all the compliments guys.
Nice to see hard work pay off occasionally.

I came from a black Silverado. I regretted buying it the second day of ownership. Only made it a year and 5 months and it was gone. Never again.
