I was quoted 400$ to powder coat my wheels without tires and 580$ with tires. Told me he could turn around same day. I’m in the Dallas area.

Those prices seem high compared to others I’ve seen.

The $400 sounds OK to me. I was quoted $160 per wheel. 3 days. The one day turn around might be a little rushed.

I have the Trd off road wheels and was going to have them powder coated to look like the black pro wheels

They are a very reputable company and do good work but $160.....I'm still not sure myself

I think he is charging $180 more to cover the cost of removing and putting the tires back. You can't powder coat with the tires on.

Yep, OP is better off paying a tire shop to pull the tires off the rims and remount after. Should be way less than $180.

Yeah that’s if he has to remove them I believe. I think I was either gloss black or satin black. I like the look of matte black but it gets more worn out looking over time.

I know of a few powder coat places here in Denver and they definitely don't powder coat with the rims on. The rims aren't baked with tires mounted. That would be nutz unless a shop is skipping the bake in process.

I'm in Houston, and the going rate is about $100/wheel depending on PC color.
They have dual coats now with clear....look amazing.
Main thing is to find a reputable shop that you trust. Going black satin or polish should not be a tough job but has to follow the standard steps to ensure a solid lasting finish.
Definitely they do not bake with tires lol
You can go get your wheels and tires taken off by a shop way less than $180.
